You need to go to the emergency room or, at the very least, call your doctor tomorrow morning. Taking OTC diuretics could make matters worse, depending on why you're having trouble breathing.

A diuretic is a substance that removes water from the body by promoting urine formation and the loss of salt (sodium).
I don't know why you would need that to breath better.

Afrin is a good over the counter nasal spray if you are having difficulty breathing from a clogged nose.

You need to go to the emergency room if you are having trouble breathing. A diuretic may only help you if you have heart failure or flash pulmonary edema, however, if it is that bad, nothing over the counter or perhaps oral really helps. That's why we use IV lasix or other IV diuretics in the hosptial. If you are truly having trouble breathing, it is an emergency, please seek professional help. I've witnessed too many people nearly die and die because they waited too long to get help.

Difficulty breathing can be a sign of lots of things so you need to see the doc ASAP as in call 911 or have someone drive you to the hospital right now. It could be something minor or something serious but since you don't seem to know what is causing it then go the the ER right away.

I used to have asmtha, that's right... used to. Anyway, it doesn't sound like asmtha to me if you want a pill to force your body to get rid of hydration.

You may have a heart condition. If you have water retention, it may be a sign of congestive heart failure.

Please... if you have anyone you love or that matters to you in your life, please go to the doctor. I know that the ER is a long wait, but... you matter in this world even though I haven't met you.
