have you ever had premonitions? Tidal waves seem like they would signify something crashing down around you....perhaps your world crashing in on you....I had another thought about it but it seems to have run away from me. You might want to check out Stephanie Doran the dream weaver at:

TIDAL WAVES : A tidal wave is a very strong symbol and can simply indicate that there is something stronger and more powerful that will just sweep us away without warning. It may symbolise our wish to protect some vulnerable family member. It may link to some larger force such as need to follow the true path of religion.
But tidal waves are also symbolic of our feelings. They may show that we are overcome with strong feelings on an issue. The sea in dreams symbolises the feelings we have and the land the facts about some issue. For the sea to sweep over the land shows that we are making very emotional decisions, possibly based on insufficient evidence.

You may have seen a movie with one as a young child, and it comes up in your subconcious memory---> dreams. Have you noticed having this dream when you feel overwhelmed by life's demands? If so, interrupt your dream when you're aware of having it, and "imagine" a life raft into the dream that allows you to ride it out, or even a surf board. It is very possible to manipulate your dreams into something different, which will help to resolve them. I have had years of practice doing this-- turning falling into flying, drowning into becoming a fish, nude-in-public nightmares into jaunts at a nudist colony! Anything is possible in the Dream World, as long as you don't let yourself be a passive observer and participate in them. It can actually carry over into your daily life, helping you to empower yourself in difficult situations in everyday life.
Good luck!

The unconscious is represented in dreams as the ocean. A dream of a tsunami means the unconscious is pushing itself into consciousness, intent on making changes to the individual's life or personality.

This could symbolically represent the end of something important in your life, but on the other hand it could also represent the unknown. It all just kind of depends on what is going on in your life and what events might have triggered a strong emotional pulling. I hope this helps :c)

I class dreams as good, bad, ugly, and plain old stress dreams. When we are stressing out or fighting living sometime you are out of control. So in the dream you are simply trying to find that control. Resolve the stressful situations. Water is so hard to control when it is rushing all around you and taking you under.

well it could be from a nummber of things, repressed memories, maybe even a previous life, something happened with water that scared you, heck they could be preminions of something to happen in the future, but tell me if they scare you, then why sleep, I'll tell you why there is something you don't know about these dreams and you want to know what that is, but if you keep living in fear then you'll never know, try this if its a dream then your in command of what happens, concentrate and remember it can't hurt you, you may find out something new about yourself that you would have know if not for this dream, there's something it could be that it's a kind of test from your mind it wants to tell you something, but can't verbally so it does so with dreams or images, stand up to this dream next time and see what happens.

You are still scared of that the tsunami you witnessed will ahppen again,so you keep on having recurring thought about it.If you keep worrying about it you will keep having these dreams ver and over agin.So relax and do something you enjoy and don't think about it.
