We have to practice what we preach and set a good example in all aspects of our lives. Show them what it means to be a hard worker and a good person and they will do the same and reap the benefits.

Street smart education, things to avoid getting hurt at all ages from 1 to 90. Clean, cook, clothes, hygine, budget, personal health, and most of all Religion. Religion shows them what to avoid. Watch out for the trouble maker in drama soap lifestyles.
Child shows that show children these things like ''Willy Wonka". Antz, Shrek, Mulan, are better and more direct than Shakespear.
A doctorate in physics does not help, if some leach sucks your refridgerator, bank, and time. Street smart avoid the leach, and push the leach to cook, clean, hygine and budget by themselves.

Nowadays you have to make sure they have manners. They need to read alot more than they are offered in school. They need to see that the world is at a dangerous stage at the moment. They need to be aware of whats going on around the world. They need to know the dangers of life.
I did this with my child, eventhou people said I would be bringup a afraid child. I have a child who is not afraid but aware as she puts it. She cant wait to get out to university and to travel. She know that you need more then just mental education you need hands on experience. She has traveled alot and seen alot. And because she is well mannerd she is invited to all plance. She has been on european youth union gathering, where she help with the pc problems. She has been to england, italy, france and spain and this all because she is well mannerd and has a good general knowledge.

Discipline them, allow them to have choices. Steer them in the direction of the right choice but make the ultimate decision their's. Be supportive when they falter, but don't overprotect or over shelter them. Give them a solid base to build upon.

Raise your children with morals! do not buy your children alcohol, cigs and drugs! i had friends in high school whose parents did that and then allowed them to drink and smoke at their home! They are pretty big losers now.( not that all people who that happened with are) i think if you raise you child to know God that will make a big difference also. Put them in extra curricular actives. Like base ball, basket ball, dance, tumbling. be involved in the things they do volunteer for girl/boy scouts. help them with homework. encourage them to do their best. make them take certain classes in high school, that they will need for college. lead by example! something else cool to do is savings bonds( for birthdays and Christmas) that will help them financially in the future. Start a savings account for college. teach them to save their own money. buy them a life insurance policy. they will be covered when they get older and it will be less expenses for them. that is about all i can think of. Good luck!!

save money for them and teach the ways of the right path. It takes a man to be a dad, and a woman to be a mother.

Get married to their biological father, stay married "until death do us part," be honest, God respecting, and loving to the family. With those examples, the children will do just fine in the future.

Pay attention to your kids. Teach them self worth and love, all along their growing up years. Praise them for good behaviour, and when they make an effort to please you.

Lead them by example. If they see you doing thoughtful and kind things for other people, they will learn to do the same.

Read to them. Listen to them non-judgementally.
