I want to know the best way to learn Japanese. Rossetta Stone is ruled out because i dont have a lot of time on the computer, and when i am on i have stuff to do. Any good ways to learn, like a good CD set for Japanese?

Go to a Japanese restaurant and talk with some of the native speakers of the language. Ask them for some advice about speaking the language, and they might be kind enough to offer some advice!

First: Learn the rules of grammar - in your own language.

I grew up in Holland, and even through secondary school we constanly had to take grammar classes: Sentence structure, diagramming. So when one of my classmates asked the teacher why, after so many years of this, his answer was: So you'll be able to learn foreign lanuages. That was quite a startling answer, but as I later found out - so true.

Watch their tv shows! They have dubbed versions of shows like Friends that are really a boon to people trying to pick up another language quickly.
