I also have problems converting rar to avi or mpeg. I've downloaed winrar. works great. especially when I've downloaded a movie and theres at least 70 small little rar files. it will convert them into 1 file for me. NOW when I extract those 70 files into one...it's still a rar file. how do I make it into a avi file ? or a mpeg ?

rar is a compressed file. avi is a movie file. I hear what you are saying, but what you are saying doesn't work. When you uncompress the rar file, you should now have your original avi file. Not another rar file.
Have you tried to simply rename the extension to avi?

RAR is not a movie file, it's more like a zip file.
The movie or whatever, is inside the rar. Winrar should sow you a list once it had decompressed the files and from that list you should see the avi in it. Just click the file to open it. I right click mine and tell it to save in a folder first.

If you go to www.download.com you can search for a "video file converter". There are numerous out there. Make sure you check into the program you select in detail. Some are shareware and some are freeware. Freeware is just that. Free. Shareware can hace some costs if you want a full version compared to a trial version.

did u attempt to extract the record? rar is a compressed record, so u ought to extract or decompress it to view the stuff interior it. or u can only receive winrar. and have a glance at to open it without extracting it... i wish that permits. otherwise.. u ought to easily use a known pc and only convert it on there and only use a USB to get the video onto the mac. :)
