Becoming Baptized again would be considered grounds for excommunication in the Roman Catholic religion, although you might be able to confess and restore yourself as Roman Catholic. However, the two groups are not in communion with one another, and choosing to become Baptist will nullify your ability to take communion at the Catholic church. Unless, of course, you lie about it.
Sorry for such sad news. If you ask your priest, you'll get a similar answer, I'm practically certain. Too bad your family is so insensitive and is pressuring you to change from you religion. They're both Christians.

The RC church believes that once you are baptized Catholic your remain so for life, no matter what other religions you may end up practicing. You are simply considered a "fallen away" Catholic who can always come back with repentance and confession. I personally don't think it matters...I was baptized and confirmed Catholic and am now a member of the Unitarian Unversalist church and a practicing pagan.

I was raised Catholic myself but I left the church when I was 16. I was Baptized as a believer when I was 27 (3 years ago) but according to Catholicism I am still Catholic.

You can always do what you like, the biggest obstacle you will run into is that Baptist is a Protestant faith so the dogma of Catholicism and Baptist will be different. Depending on where you are that could have some difficulties. If your faith is as important as your family maybe you should speak to a catholic priest and the baptist minister and see what they say. It almost never hurts to ask.

I'd say that if you really believe in the Catholic church, don't get baptized in the baptist church. Baptism may be a silly ritual, but if it means something to you then don't let someone force you into it.

One baptism is all you need. However, that being said, I know this kid that must have been baptized about five times by different people, although never officially. So long as you have holy water blessed by a priest, fine. What ever any other religion does is either unnecessary or simply a confirmation of what went on before. Ask the pastor and ask the priest what they think. Lots of people get baptized just to please their family. What's in your heart belongs to you.

What "religion" you are doesn't matter. "Religion" has nothing to do with it. The only thing that redeems us and atones for our sins is God's grace. We can receive that grace by accepting Jesus as our personal Saviour and confessing that He died on the cross for our sins. Yes, the conflict of religion is important in your life right now. But your full faith in Jesus Christ is what will define your existence beyond this short life. Foerever.
And any religion that doesn't teach that Jesus Christ is the Saviour is incorrect anyway.

I think you can only be one or the other. Frankly, neither one will do you much good, but it's your life. Being baptized in one cancels out the other.

Grow up and stop letting your parents choose your religion for you. If you're old enough to have a religion, then you're old enough to pick your own. Do some research, not just into those two, and choose the religon you consider to be correct. If you don't consider any of them correct, then don't choose any of them.
