Hi Brandy,
Lots of good ideas here from other people... try to not think so much about what you "can't" eat and focus more on the things you should eat. Even without working out every day, if you nourish your body with high quality foods, you will be much healthier. Try to eat whole grain breads, and lots of raw fruits and veggies. The best ones are blueberries, strawberries and oranges for fruits, and broccoli and carrots for veggies. For meat, try eating fish and chicken baked (not fried), or turkey. As others have mentioned, daily brisk walks for 45-60 minutes are a great place to start.
There are some no-no's though when it comes to foods.. try your very best to avoid pop, trans-fats, shell fish, and deep fried stuff. Please drink lots of water, try to get at least a half gallon throughout the day. Good luck.

If you are 14 yrs old you shouldn't worry so much about weight...and try more of a lifestyle change...That would help you out so much more in the long term. If you know what I mean. You also shouldn't be trying weight loss pills at that age..They don't really work anyhow. My advice to you is to start eating healtier. Maybe even smaller portions. And weight loss isn't something that's just going to happen over night. If you are on the internet often. I would suggest going to www.sparkpeople.com there is a community of people on there who will support you in ever step of the journey. Along with exercise routines and meal plans. Good luck and God Bless.
P.S. if you join Spark People...look me up Mandy2007!

Remember:
No pills and no patch because that will put you at high risk for a stroke. I know because I used to work in a Rehabilition Hospital dealing with these patients
My best experience came from UCI Medical Weight Maintenance Program.

OK. I can see you have the will and I think I can help you, but you're going to be more realistic about this.
First, you can't lose the weight right now - there are no miracle cures. None whatsoever. And at your age, you should not take diet pills and the like - you're not done growing and they could be dangerous. Diets don't work either - if you lose weight through a diet, you will gain it back.
That's because what you need for permanent weight loss is not a diet, but a lifestyle change. Basically, if you eat a certain way to lose weight, you've got to ask yourself: Can I actually eat like this for the rest of my life? If the answer is no, then it's just a diet and you will gain the weight back. You've got to find a diet you can live with - forever.
Soda pop, fast food, potato chips, ice cream, chocolate, etc... Are all very high in calory. (So is beer for a couple of years from now). If you eat them regularly, you will gain weight. I'm not saying you should never treat yourself to any of these, but they should not be a part of your daily diet. Once a week of one of those things is enough. I know this might sound difficult, because you may be used to having them around and they're addictive, in a way. Maybe you can cut by half at first, by three quarters. If you're thirsty, don't have a pop - drink water. If you're hungry, don't go straight for the potato chips - have an apple. (You shouldn't starve yourself either - starving yourself causes your body to go in a panic mode, in which the body will hold on to fat stored in fat cells. If you're hungry, eat. Just eat healthier).
You're probably not making the choices as to what you buy in your house yet, but learn about food and what is better, and talk to your mom about healthier eating. Chances are she'll want to encourage you. Read ingredients before buying things. Real orange juice is a lot healthier than most brands - which tend to be colouring, artificial flavour, sugar and water. Buy skimmed, or partially skimmed milk. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables. Be careful of things you buy in a box and just stick in the oven. Most of these things are loaded with trans fats, salt and sugar. Trans fats should probably be avoided at all cost, but anything near 50 percent of the "recommended daily intake" is too much (That recommended intake is a joke by the way. You don't need trans fats at all and it's the worst kind of fat - the 100% is what is considered dangerous, so ouch!). Also, when you read ingredients on boxes and cans, be very careful about the quantities. Companies work hard at convincing you it's not so bad.
So they'll give you a number of calories, but check the small print, then they'll add: For 15 ml. And the product comes in a 150 ml bottle, so it's 10 times that.
And stay far away from fast food. Most dieticians say you shouldn't eat at a place like McDonald's more than once a month. Others think you shouldn't even eat at those places at all.
I've given you a link to a calory calculator below that will tell you how much you need to eat to keep you healthy and lose weight at the same time.
Now for the exercise. You will need regular exercise. How much? How often? When you're done a workout, you should be sweaty and disgusting. Not only does it mean you've been getting in shape, it means your body gets a chance to get rid of a bunch of toxins. I personally work out every day, or almost, but I understand most people think that's a bit much. But you should exercise at least two or three times a week. Aerobics is what makes you lose weight: Running, swimming, dancing, jumping, etc... If you're really out of shape, don't overdo it at first. Just make sure you do enough to get tired. Exercise shouldn't be too easy. You should get winded and you should get sweaty. Don't exercise until you're in pain, though. What I'm trying to communicate to you is to treat your body with respect. Pain means stop.
On the other hand, if you hurt yourself at one place, you can always take on a new exercise. I stopped running when I hurt my foot and it took months to be completely back to normal - but I took up cycling instead. If you hurt yourself, mix it up, try swimming - very low impact. The idea with exercise is to have fun. I have an exercise bike where I can watch T.V. while I work out. So I just watch T.V. for two hours and I've done 25 kilometers of cycling. I like swimming. I run in the summer, but I go in a trail in the woodland, because that's where it's nice to do it. Maybe you can get involved in a sport. It's also great for your social life.
Finally, the most important thing of all is to stick to it. I don't believe in miracle diets. I believe in lifestyle changes. If you eat right and exercise and treat your body with respect, you may not lose all the weight overnight, but I guarantee you you will be healthier, you will lose the weight gradually and you'll feel better about yourself. Remember: No miracles. Just stick to it. If you remember one thing from all this, it should be it: Stick to it. Don't quit. Stick to it. Don't quit.
Best of luck to you.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

Get at least 30 minutes of exersise per day, and depending on activity level and height, you might want to eat about 1200-1600 calories per day for a steady weight loss.
