People want to have sex at these early ages because they hear that everyone else is doing it, and they dont want to be left out. However, everyone isnt doing it. If you are not with a person that you love and admire and want to be with the rest of your life, then sex is not worth having. Having your first is not worth wasting on someone that you will regret doing it with. You have to have a strong emotional connection in order for sex to be great. Its better to wait and do it with someone you really really love than it is to do it with someone that will cause you to regret it for the rest of your life.

Losing your virginity should be a big deal. It was for me.
I lost my virginity to my boyfriend when we were both 16 years old. Now we are 27 and still together with a 5 year old son. We have been together for 11 (almost 12) years.

We loved one another so that is why we done it. It was all planned and everything just like our son was planned.
I do not regret none of it.

If you want to wait then that is good. You should really lose it to someone that you love and that loves you back.
Good luck and Take care

Personally, I don't think virginity is all that special. It's just sex, just another thing you can add to the list of life experiences.I lost my virginity about a week before I turned fifteen, and it actually wasn't all that big of a deal in my opinion. Fun, yes, but it didn't exactly change my life. I was glad I got it over with, though.

If you believe that it is special, and that you should make it a special event, then, perhaps, you should wait. Otherwise, I'd say to just get it over with. As long as you're 'emotionally ready'.

They are just in a hurry to grow up. Or they think it makes them grown up anyway. That is not the case at all though. I think it's great that you all want to wait. Sex should be between two people that really love each other not just a quick fling and on to other things. I wish I would have waited, knowing what I know now. Just make sure when the time comes it won't bring any regrets with it.

Good for you guys. Sex was probably not the best to that guy because it was his first time and also because he had no real committment. Having sex for the first time should be a well thought out process and saved for someone you love, when you are both ready for a lifelong committment. It's purpose is to pro-create, and if you are not ready to deal with that, you guys have made the best decision by putting it off. Congratulations, it's about time someone here got smart.

Pressure from everyone else doing it. Wait, it is better when you are more mature and ready for it. And when it is really with the right person, you may think she/he is it but at 16 really it most likely isn't. And like in my case do you want to get pregnant at 16 and shorten your teen years basically.

You are SO smart! The first time is aquard and lame i suppose, not the majical moment many teens think it will be. Waiting until you have a diploma & a jobs (responsibilities ) sounds like the both of you are very smart

You can choose to not be a virgin, but you can not go back and change into a virgin. Being a virgin is something to be proud of. Once you give it up, what do you have to give to your wife/husband. Only something that you already gave to someone else. You can never get it back. Don't push it. I regret having done it. I even regret my husband and I doing it before we got married.

wait until you both know that you are completely ready. Im 23 and I'm still a virgin, Im just not ready yet. Its too much responsibility, the last thing you want is to be a teenage parent!

It isn't a big deal. Your friend is right. My husband to be and I are not virgins nor eachothers first partner. No big deal. Just be responsible and safe about it.
