Yes, I believe so. A form of this is post-traumatic stress disorder that soldiers suffer from.
And a lot of kids today cannot differentiate real death from death that they see on TV.
And still some kids live it through all manners of child abuse.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks...
If all we are exposed to day in and day out is trash, negativity and all sorts of vile things then yes we become desensitized. That's why prayer and bible study are so important.
Love is a more excellent way!

Yes We become what we associate with. People are becoming more and more unconscious due to seeing so much violence on TV. To be able to watch violent things with no reaction is because they have animal consciousness. As Humans we are supposed to raise our consciousness to our constitutional position as pure spirit soul, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. The quickest and easiest way is to chant the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. Read Bhagavad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada for complete details.

I have seen death and the rotten side of life for 33 years--it's my job. But I still have emotions. I still feel good and bad and saddness. But that's me---everyone is different and how you feel is personal...You get used to things but that doesn't mean that emtionally you will go cold.. If you can't handle the bad, start looking for the good.Maybe you need a change of lifestyle or a new job. Bad is not for everyone---lots of people leave our job---they admit they made a poor choice and move on. Good luck

Yes. Everything a person is exposed to affects their thinking. The only solution is to intentionally expose yourself to positive influences in order to counteract all the inadvertant negative ones.

Yes you can. My family has become that way. So many bad things happened to me and the ones I love that when someone is complaining about their problems it seem trite to me. I have a friend who still complains about her bad burning her LP's (records) when she was 14. That the worst that ever happened to her. Hmm my worst was having cancer and my husband deciding I wouldn't live so he got rid of all my stuff.
My best is waking up to my little dog and being alive.
Love and light .. Everyday is a gift.

Yes. It is a form of brainwashing. ie: it is OK to kill someone because they live on top of an oil field. or i want what you have so I will kill you in the name of a holy person. Pick a religion they are all the same. kill the women and abuse the children so we can have a society that is fear-full of the truth. Then we can brainwash them to do as "we" want. Govt. and religion are notorious for this behaviour. 20 % of all casualties of war are soul-diers and the rest ( 80%) are civilians.

Yes. Especially if the person has problems already. For example, men who watch a LOT of porn change their opinions of women & what they like. I would assume that violence would work the same way. I'm not making excuses for these people. I think they need help before they hurt someone.

Yes but I think this has already happened to a certain degree. I live in a heavily populated city with a sizeable amount of crime. Its nothing anymore to see robberies, rapes, murders on the television. Its sad but its today's society. We can't turn a blind eye to it (no pun intended) even if we no longer react to it with shock.
