Emails, IMs, cards are good, but long distance realtionships are really hard. It's totally different than actuallly being with someone. WHen you talk on the phone, you are unable to see the persons face, their eyes and only have their voice to go by. Decide that you give yourself some kind of rewards, dont sit at home all the time because it's ;likely your friend wont be doing the same.

I am going through a long distance relationship right now. It has been like this for 2 years already. The best advice I can give you is to ensure that it won't be long distance forever. It is easy to get comfortable, but it will be a waste of your time if you do not take measures to shorten the distance in the future.

go to see that person at an appointed time otherwise it wont work. contact call text email a lot. open lines of communication is key. and 2 of you be a team together not all one pulling for the relationship.
