Why does our government fund them and help them start buisiness' over here? How come they don't fund people who were born in the USA instead? Why don't we get 1st priority?

affirmative action helps them qualify for loans and grants that most americans (white americans) do not qualify for due to the color of their skin (can you say racism?)

Also, there are many groups that people of foriegn countries belong to, that help each other with start up capital. For instance, many orientals will join up with a club, and every week they pay x amount of money. That money all goes to a person who is next in line on the club for start up capital of a restaurant. It is quite an interesting concept.

as for "anyone can apply for small business loan", yes, anyone can apply, but if you are a minority, you are more likely to get approved.

For a few reasons.

1.) Americans burn the gas, they don't pump it. Like you'd ever run a gas station.

2.) We've robbed Bangladesh blind with economic exploitation. It's fair that they can come over here or in England so they can get their nation's immense wealth back. (Before the English colonized India, Bangladesh was easily the richest place in the world.)

3.) Why do you always HAVE to get 1st priority?

4.) You're killing the poor guy's family to pump the oil from his backyard, don't you think he can at least get a job out of this?

I'm sure that when you're family came over from whatever country back in the day, if everyone was as xenophobic as you wish they were, your gramps would've starved w/o a job.

Our government does not fund them. They bring money with them because they generally must cash out everything they own when they come here. Then they buy a small business and run it successfully because the entire family helps out. Gas stations, hotels and motels are all things people can do without much knowledge of English, or with only some of the family members able to speak English. But an aunt or uncle who knows not one word of English can still clean and make beds. They also run restaurants, own laundromats, and have a variety of franchises. They are adding to the American economy.

To make a long story short OPEC owns the Oil wells and Pimp the hell out of Americans, that continue to drive gas guzzling cars! Uncle Habib, gives by nepotism gas stations and keeps it in the family unlike American companies that send jobs overseas. See House Bill 1-B that will give amnesty to all Illegal aliens including Al -Queada. How about that?

Until what's left of Detroit starts making vehicles fuel efficient vehicles..this is the game that will be played ad infinitum! We would be better served by fossil fuels, solar and wind efficient homes and not be Pimped by Oil Conglomerates. By the way? Why is nobody investing in that American venture and making it cost effective? Could it Be Satan or the above mentioned?

1. They are not foreigners. They have become naturalized citizens and are contributing to our economy.
2. The government is not funding or subsidizing them any more than anybody else. There are loans available through the Small Business Administration.
3. They are running hotels, gas stations and convenience stores because white trash bigots think it is beneath their dignity, so white trash complains about all the 'foreigners' taking jobs.
4. Why haven't you learned how to spell, Honky? At least the business people are learning our language. There is even a spell checker on this site so you don't have to embarrass yourself.

I never read some of the most hateful remarks...
As another poster stated, many fled to this country for asylum from persecution from their native land... many bring cash and they set up businesses that does not require speaking English. My family immigrated here legally... my father worked 12-16 hour days 7 days a week slaving for someone as a chef for many years and he took his life savings and we purchased a restaurant the family ran for over 16 years!

Most of them are not from the middle east, but from India and Pakistan. Just because they are dark skinned and black haired doesn't make them Middle east or Arab. Most are Hindu not Muslim. Most Pakistanis though are Muslim. Most of the ones from India brought money with them along with their families. You can always tell a hotel they own by the smell of curry.
Then, because they are a minority, and our liberal side of gov. has determined that minorities need help to succeed in America, they are given priority for SBA loans etc. If you don't like the fact that citizens born in the US are discriminated against, don't vote for Senators or Congress members that favor taking money from hard working citizens and giving to others. There are to many people out there with their hands out< and I am not talking about welfare, but special interest groups, and to many elected members of both houses buying their votes by giving them money taken from hard working citizens and given it to people who can work or to special interest groups.

How exactly is the government helping them start a business, by giving them a visa? What, if anything, are they getting from the government that is not available to a native born citizen?

Tax breaks and financing incentives not offered to us.

Wowie...... minorities encouraged to bid on government jobs is an example of an incentive not offered to us. They recieve preferential treatment. This I know as I am a government worker.

Certain countries such as India get favored status with MANY government incentives INCLUDING the SBA
