I can NOT use XP (not fast enough CPU), and I don't like it anyway, so don't tell me to switch.

I know something got deleated, I just have no idea what or where, as it happened right after I used a software's program to uninstall itself.

Thank you.

Iexplore.exe is Internet explorer. explorer.exe is the Windows 98 shell.

I reccommend using SFC to restore the file Iexplore.exe from you original Windows 98 installation CD.

As for explorer.exe, the foundation of Windows 98, you would have to extract this file when Windows 98 itself is not running. So boot to a startup disk you can create in > Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs>Startup Disk Tab.

WIth CD-ROM support enabled, use the Extract /? command at the command prompt for more information on how to extract explorer.exe from the Windows .CAB files on the CD.

I have a Pentium 233 with Win 98 and I can't get IE or Netscape to run and I have upgraded both.

I just downloaded Mozilla Firefox for my laptop and I LIKE IT!
It is supposed to run on Pentium 233 with Win 98 (minimum required) so I am going to try it . . .

I hope you have a legitimate CD for Win98. Microsoft no longer supports it in any way.

This link will let you download a free copy of IE6. You may want to reinstall.
