Ego/cocky is not appealing typically...confidence is...someone who is clearly happy with who they are and where they are in life...and where they are going...who is friendly and personable, but doesn't seem to "need" friends...they don't seek attention but because of who they are, they get it anyway...
Now of course, I'm an adult so this is from an adult perspective, and not a teen one...

It depends what who the girl is really. For example, I like confidence as in, I like guys who aren't afraid to be open and and brave when it comes to personal matters like a date or something. My boyfriend (before I went out with him) was talking to my other friend, and he got behind me and mouthed the words "she's hot!" When I asked what he said and what my friend was laughing at, he openly admitted what he really said.
Honestly, that is the only type of "confidence" I know. Some girls are attracted to the shy because it makes them look cute and others are attracted to the open type. It depends on the type of girl, and the type of guy. Hope that helped.

Women like men that are sure of themselves ranging from how well he can protect her to whether or not he knows how to stand up for himself. Cocky as oppossed to confident is a thing that women can't stand.
It's true about the contraditions you see and hear about, but the bottom line is a real women can see through a man who is fake. There is nothing wrong with knowing who you are and once in a while letting other know it, but like a switch, know when to turn it on and off.

Confidence is attractive, but NOT false bravado or sheer *********!! For example: NOBODY wants to date someone who is sullen and complains "Oh, nobody wants me - I'm no good. I hate myself. I can't do anything right."
A good, confident person says things like, "I'm pretty good at fixing things" or "I know how to treat a woman right." But it's MORE than just the words - it's about
MEANING THEM. You shouldn't talk the talk and then not walk your walk! Don't put on some macho ego male CRAP, because women don't like that at all. If you are a person who sincerely trusts himself in what he knows and he has faith in himself, it can help attract companions.

Well i think that you dont neccessaritly have to be confident the girl might like you cos your yourself being who you are, someone will surly like you for yourself. Its about wether your happy in your own skin, love who you are everyone is different and that special someone will come along and love you for your kindness. If your a giving person good things always will always follow but always protect your heart by knowing what you want in a girl dont let her change you. Good luck :0)

Girls are not attracted to arrogant guys. A guy who is cool, open and outgoing is attractive because they are easy to talk to. How can you get a timid guy to open up? Why would you want to bother?

I dont care what anyone says. People are attracted by looks. If you can pull off your look, you can be hot. If you're hot, but you don't know it, it's still hot. If you're not so hot but believe you can be, it can be hot. It's hard to explain.

Guys who are sure of themselves and who they are. It's not an outward thing- it's an inner thing.
