My ex is attached. He never contact me ever since. I tried to ask him out on his birthday but he give stupid excuses like he will be out of town for a few weeks due to his work commitment. I just want to be friends with him, but why is he ignoring me? Do most guys do this?

it will depend on the manner of ur break up, how long u guys been together, and whether or not u have bf or he has gf.
perosnally i would avoid my ex gf until i know i don have feelings for her anymore. maybe thats wat he thinks, or maybe he hates you? maybe he got a gf and doesnt wan his gf to get angry.

He's an ex, so why would he want to associate with you? It's nothing personal: it's the right thing for an ex to do. The exception is if you have kids together, otherwise learn what ex means, and deal with it.

Give it some time. And don't expect him to spend Holidays or birthdays with you, if you want to be just a friend.

Most ex's can take being just friends so , yeah they try to get the distance from you!

It's rare that ex's remain friends.

He doesn't want to be friends and you probably don't want that either. Give it up. You will only embarrass yourself. Don't you want to be friends with someone who wants to be friends with you??
