If you have read a lot about cutting than you would know that people who cut are not doing it to kill themselves they do it to cope. You can get better. The people who say ha ha yeah life is not fair are the wrong people to be talking to. If you talked to a trained professional he or she would never tell you that. What you are feeling is valid and it should be taken seriously. I am sure there were times you cut because you weren't taken seriously or didn't express your truest emotions to the people in your life. Maybe you felt no one would listen to you. I bet those books would have helped if you were also speaking with a professional that can help you by replace cutting with something positive but just as effective as the feeling you get from cutting. Instead of reading books on self mutilation try finding books on being more assertive. Being assertive can help you stand up for yourself, it makes you feel that you have control over the things in your life. Good Luck to you.

You are fortunate in the fact that you have some very caring people here that have provided you with some excellent answers. I hope you will print out the answers and take time to really read and reflect on them. I recently found out that my daughter had started cutting herself. It wasn't a complete surprise because she had been diagnosed and treated for depression, but it was still devastating to me.

I hope you will try other ways to cope instead of self-injury. If you can motivate yourself, try writing down how you feel in a journal. If not a journal, then type it on a computer and save it to a disk. I'll say a prayer for you, because at least I've seen a glimpse of what you are going through by my daughter's experience.

Self harm is a coping mechanism and one which I think is perfectly acceptable. Im sure there'll be people who'll disagree with me and thats fine. If you want to stop though, you'll have to sort out what it is that makes you cut yourself. I would recommend going to a psychiatrist, often they can find the root of the problem when you never can. Also, whenever the urge to cut comes over you,try writing down everything you feel in a notebook,be totally honest even if it scares you. Good Luck!

I wish I could say something to help you . I don't know what to say. I will pray for you tonight . perhaps some Valerian root which is a natural relaxant.exercise.eat right . no junk foods. no sweets.take a good b vitamin complex it s great for stress. going to church helped me, group counseling maybe.I cut myself some before a few times.people generally don't seem to care. but God does.ask the Spirit of God into yourself. talk with the spirit within you. ask for guidance listen for that very quiet voice that will answer you.when I get on my knees and pray it seems better then just siting in a chair or something.I wish you well.I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

first of all have you looked deep in yourself and wonder why do you hate yourself so much that you would do this? there is a problem for you to do this. have you ever gotten counselling? when something happens to us a children and we never deal with it and it becomes like a cess pool in us and begins to contaminate us if we dont deal with it. an unresolved inner conflict that has us bound to what we hate about ourself.what was your childhood like? did you have something dramatic happen to you? would you consider going to see a counselor and finding out what lies beneath the surface?i have a friend that cuts herself and she is so sweet. she has been tramatized by her parents saying bad things to her and making her feel that she wasnt good enough.it caused her to hate herself and because she would get frustrated she would cut herself and punish herself for what happened to her when she was young.there is a 24 hour number that you can call , and these people care and listen. before you cut yourself again call this number and ask for help.1-330-929-5010

self-mutilation is serious and its great that you want to stop :-) it seems like a lot of people are blowing you off about your problems. I would hope that you could talk to someone more professional like a school nurse or counselor or even your doctor. I know a lot of people that using cutting to let go of emotions and it is hard to stop without the right help. Talking to a professional can help you get the medical or theraputic backing to help you stop and find more positive coping mechanisms. Good luck and take care :-)

you can think of other activities to do. But also if you cut yourself and you end up dieing think of all the friends and fAMILY MEMBERS that love you and that you love. You are hurting them. If you like them hopefully that will give you a good motive not to cut yourself. hopefully this helped if not im sorry

Most time when people do things that they don't really have any control of doing, Like your cutting, You want to stop But you just can't help but do it anyway, right? Well it is because of a horomone imbalance in your brain.
All you need to do is Detox and Rejuvenate your Mind Body and Spirit.

here is a Plan I have devised for myself but I think it can help you too.

Stress can make any disorder worse. May it be Mental Emotional or physical. Stress is when you worry way too much about things that can be fix with a little effort on your own personal part.
Stress has been proven to cause serious health risks, such as heart disease, Endurance Problems, Fatigue, Emotional Imbalances, etc.
There are options to dealing stress and weight loss. Such as Detox plans and rejuvenation Plans, as the one I have enclosed.

I definitely stress that you consult your physician, about anything new or changes in your daily regimine. As this plan will affect other areas of your Daily living and Medications.

Please feel free to Copy and Print this to your own Blank Text and save it and print it out when you go to your DR again.

One month detox and rejuvenation plan

Step one: Detox: (week one)
a), Drink lots of water
b) lay off the sodas, beer, tea, coffee, etc
c) Basically go on a water fast(drink water only and no food), for 7days consecutively.
d)for even more detoxifying effects, maybe sit in a Sauna for about 20-30 minutes, twice during your 7day detox(once when during day two and once during day four), allowing your pores to open up and allow the toxins to come out.

Step two: Rejuvenate (Goes hand in hand with step one, done during the entire month and future days) (If you are under the age of 18 with a proper ID, You have to be accompanied by a parent to any Spa or Massage Clinic.)
Go to a spa, and enjoy a nice warm Mud Bath or a Bodywrap, Then a two hour Massage, starting with ROM Assessment/Joint therapy, to relieve any joint stress or tension, Then a Little Myofascial Stretching to give the skin and muscle a nice warming stretch, Then a slightly Vigorus Swedish to relax the muscles, Then a Little acupressure to relieve any trigger points, Then ending a soft Swedish to really relax those muscles. Then maybe get a nice salt scrub to really open your pores, and soften the skin. Then take a nice warm shower, rinse away any toxin that may have come to the surface, and excess oils from the salt scrub. Then rinse with cold water to tighten the pores and waken the bodys energies and chakras. Find a reiki practioner and get a session to help restart your chakras as you may have a few that need a boost.

Step Three: Exercise, (can be done during step one and two, and is incorporated into our lives forever til we die)

Try a Tai chi Class, Yoga, Pilates, Aerobics, or Jazzercise, Maybe take up swimming, or Ballrom Dancing.

Step four: Eat Proper ( this starts during week two and continues into our everyday lives)
Plan yourself a Healthy But tasty diet plan including and starting with:

Breakfast:
Minimum of 8oz glass of water at room temp each morning,
Followed by a 8oz glass of Freshly juiced Organic Fruit juice, 3 Apples, 2 slices of pineapple, 1 pear, and four carrots, this will give your body a Natural energetic boost.
Then followed by a warm bowl of Whole oat cereal.
No refined sugars, If you need sweet use honey, or maple syrup.

For Lunch:

eat a Nice veggie salad with vinegar and Oil dressing, Not Italian or any thing with dairy. Follow it with a warm Turkey or Chicken breast sandwich (skinless, and as little fat as possible if any all. Try to avoid any heavy meats Like beef or pork during the early moring or lunch times. Follow the sandwich with some watermelon or strawberries, or some kind of fresh fruit salad if you are a still hungry or just want a nice desert. Watermelon or any type of Melon will help to fill you up faster.
Drink water at a couple of degrees cooler than room tempurature.

For Dinner:
start with a nice small Garden salad with tomatoes, leafy lettuce, radishes, carrot slivers, Almonds, Sunflower seed Kernals, and Spinach, again with a vinegarette, instead of salad dressing. Followed by Either a baked or broiled Poultry or Fish Dinner fresh of course, no frozen crap. No Fried, Minimal If you want Butter try to get Organic or some sort of spread that has low carb and transfat count., Or just stay away from Butter all together, But use lemon at your own choosing, fresh pepper(s), No salt, fresh Green beans , Organic Whole wheat bread, Whole grain Pastas if you prefer. Organic Rice.

Anything and everything Organic

Stay away from Refined sugars(candy, or anything non organic

If anything at all try to eat as organic as you can possibly eat. IF you read a lables Ingrediants list, and you can't pronounce the words then it is toxic for your Body, and Mind, and Spirit.
