I think that it can happen mostly to older people who are weak to begin with. I know of a family who had a daughter die of a bad car accident and the grandmother dropped dead when she saw the granddaughter in the casket. They say the shock was too much for her to handle. It was so sad.

Yes, especially if that person has a heart condition.
When a person is frightened, the body releases a hormone called adrenaline, which ramps up the body's energy levels in order to deal with the threat. This is often called the "fight or flight" reaction, because the body will need a lot of extra energy in a hurry no matter what the person decides to do.
Some people may have heart disease and not know it. If they are scared suddenly the rush of adrenaline makes the heart beat faster, and that will overwork a sick or damaged heart, killing the person.

I guess they could, if they had high blood pressure or heart problems. When you get scared or become shocked at something, a burst of adrenalin courses through you to help you prepare for the possibility of immediate danger. Your heartbeat increases, and your pressure rises.
If you have poor heart conditions, such as being overweight, high cholesterol, or general old age, this can trigger a heart attack or even a stroke. However, I don't think this is common and unless you know the person has a problem like this, scaring people shouldn't be too big of a deal.

yeah, that can trigger a heart attack in someone with a compromised heart. it may be harmful in the long run for people with tendency towards anxiety, i.e. it is an unnecessary stress and stress is bad for you. or maybe it's good, i don't know and I bet i can't find out. definitely don't be scaring people with post-traumatic stress disorder though. it's just a good practise.
also it is unkind. otherwise, go ahead.
the phrase 'scared to death' is maybe best used to refer to a less rapid process by which animals or humans under intense stress/fear die from a set of physiological problems including blood vessel ruptures and hemorrhaging.

I'm no expert, but as far as i know. . . Yes you can scare someone to death, but its not like you scare them and they just fall to the ground dead. . . . usually people that die from being scared die from heart attacks, or something similar! But knowing that for some reason has not stopped me 4rm scaring people!

Yes, its very possible to scare someone to death. Their hearts may not be strong enough to take the scare or their bodies are excreting too much endorpines that causes heart failure or massive stroke.

yes you can die from being scared especially if you have a bad heart. When you are scared your heart works much harder and causes you to have heart failure

There have been cases of where this actually happens. Usually the person actually dies of a stress-induced heart attack. Pretty scary stuff.
