If you play woodsball (play in the woods) and your not looking to shoot 98465843 balls per second, then get a tippmann. But if you want to play speedball (blow up bunkers, professionals play it) and shoot up to 18 balls per second, then get a Smart Parts Ion. An ion is a high quality electronic paintball marker for all experience levels. I would reccomend the Ion because most of the paintball guns these days are electric, so you need to get the feel of walking the trigger.
Tippmann < Ion

NOT A TIPMAN. Tipmans cost $150 just for the gun and it is the worst semi-automatic out there. I would recommend a spyder. All of them come with double triggers so you can shoot at Least 2 times faster than a tipman. They have a few that come in packages for $150 or even $100. I would recommend the Spyer TL-R package ($130), it comes with: 2 barrels one for big fields (woods ball) and one for small courses (speed ball), a hopper, CO2, and a mask barrel cleaner which is everything you need to play except paint. It is a great deal because that's all you to play unlike when buying a tipman and having to spend $80 on a hopper, CO2, and a mask and you don't get the extra barrel.
The ion is a Great gun for intermediate or advanced but is a bit to much for a beginner so the Spyder TL-R is the way to go.
Hope I helped

mutually as the guy merchandise value breakdowns are different, paintball expenses common are rather much a ideal experience for what golfing expenses. you will not hit upon an impressive paintball gun for in uncomplicated terms $a hundred, because of the fact no such ingredient exists. You get the commonplace of equipment you pay for, and robust high quality starts off around $200, with ideal high quality exceeding $one thousand.

A Tippmann 98 is a decent reasonably price gun for beginners. Or you could get a really cheap one at Wal-Mart to just mess around and shoot at targets.

best way to go is to use a tippmann then see how that goes...after that if you're looking to upgrade to an electronic marker you could go with an ion or a decent autococker...i began with an A-5, then a year later upgraded to an ion, and eariler this year bought a dm6

Avoid the Ion. It is NOT a beginner gun.
Go with the Tippmann.
