OMG...I'm sorry! I misread your question & thought you were asking if you should hug or kiss your daughter on the first day of school!!! LOL...I didn't realize until I read a few other's answers that were so creepy I had to read the question again! LMAO!
Anyway...the first day, a hug will do :)

I say give her a hug goodbye. Even a kiss on the cheek will do. You don't want to move in too fast, it might scare her. Gradually work your way into a kiss when you think the time is right. Good Luck

Hug, no kisses! If you use it all up on the first day it won't mean much later on :( Hugs are often wasted on friends, so its common. I mean, you don't kiss your best friend :< And try not to tell her "I love you" too soon 'cause you actually might not but you think you do :o~

hug. The kiss wil come in in the next 4 dayz or so. Try to walk her in the rain and then gaze into her eyes and very slowly go into a kiss. works every time bro:]

Do the norm, you don't want them to think it is not OK to give them a kiss in public, or what ever you normally would do. Don't change that now.
