Just apply. They cannot stop you doing that. It is probrably a good idea to get in contact with your embassy, wherever you will apply for work and get them to help you in your process. Maybe if you also talk with the company about your issue, they can help the process move faster. At least I did that here in Denmark, and they really make it hard for you to get in!! Where are you comming from? I guess if you are in europe already, should not be too hard. I know things are even more screwed up because of "terror" attacks etc... Quite stupid really. Any excuse for keepin people out!! Well, I hope this advice was useful in someway!!
Good Luck in the future!!

You are free to come and work from any EU country, but people from the Eastern countries have to register after they start work. Others need some sort of visa which allows them to work, this can include a work permit which the employer has to apply for - but this would only be granted if the Home Office is persuaded that the job cannot be adequately filled from within the EU.
As others have said, applying is no problem, getting the job and then getting the visa is the difficulty. Most of the time, employers will want to know that you are allowed to work without having to make other arrangements before considering you for a job!
Good luck

you can apply without having a work permit or visa....However, 99% u have no chance, cause the company u r applying for would love to have a candidate who's alraedy having a permit.
Unless u r an execptional candidate.

Depends where you are from in the first place and what arrangement your country CURRENTLY have with the UK. Like status. If its a third world banana republic, then its straight to jail if you are found out and after that you are deported. That's what they call an illegal.

The idea behind it is simple. You need to have a work permit when you need to work. Not when you are attending interviews.
