I go to school 3 hours away from my b/f and we're just fine, so long distance relationships can work. But both of you have to want it to work.
With my boyfriend, we make sure we talk on the phone at least once a day. I see him every two weeks, and we make the most of that weekend. But it all comes back to wanting it to work. If she doesn't want a long distance relationship, then it probably isn't such a good idea to try.

me and my boy friend are in a long distance relationship. hes 3 states away.its rough and it takes a lot of work from both people. we love each other and we trust each other and thats what it takes.i say just talk to her about if you still love each other there is no reason y you shouldnt be with her. ok so you guys are long distance...... so what eventually you will be 2gether again and then you can go from there. i dont kno i just kno that a long distance relationship is worth it even tho the distance is a killer and i think that it just makes two people stronger. good luck i hope everything works out for you

The thing about long-distance is that there has to be a goal or "end" in place. If you love someone and "pine" for them, then there has to be a reason for your suffering. If this girl isn't thinking marriage right now...then she'll eventually want to break up because waiting around doesn't make sense. My advice, if this visit doesn't work out...take a 3-4 month break in corresponding with each other. Mourn the fact that you guys have broken up and try to date someone in your own local area.

You may want to start acknowleging that you're both growing apart. Without being able to spend time with eachother and growing together in those spontaneous moments, you'll find yourself missing out on opportunities to stay close.
While there is nothing to prevent you from being close friends, I believe that you'd both be better off emotionally if you could discuss your distance and how it's affecting your relationship.

I went back and forth between states fro 4.5 yrs. It is hard 7 hr drive. Then one day he got tired and almost gave up and just like dwindled spoke less then I sensed this.. I was asked to move to his state when it was so hard fro him.. I couldn't by the time I did we tried and then he just gave up. I think if you 2 cant be a team and get together somehow its pretty much a sad sit.there is gonna be partied to long to go at spur of moment dances, concerts, bored etc.. you need to be available. If you can get closer to her home or vica versa otherwise nada it takes 2 devoted loyal people- by the way - love does not break up.. so something has to give

actually all you need is have faith!!!!! If you two truly love each other........nothing could break you apart and that includes distance. As a saying says: Absence make the heart grow fonder.
my advice is that everytime you two see each other...give her a simple present that would make her really miss you everytime you're apart. Good luck!!!!! I hope for your long lasting love!!!!!! ; )

Maybe for her it's not worth it.
Talk to her and find out what problems she's having with the situation....then see if she's willing to try addressing them.
Love is very important but sometimes it's not enough.
