Visiting Europe has always been a dream to me. Any suggestions on where/which country should I visit? Which part/country shoud I not miss? Is it better to go with a tour group or one my own? Cruise or not? Thanks so much!!!!

This depends very much on your language abilities and time. A week or two are not much to see a lot. Within a timeframe like that, I'd say go in early June or late May, because everything is in full bloom, but not as hot yet, and the tourist season is not on yet, so you'll have a more pleasant experience.
As for countries to see in a week or two:
I'd say if you do Italy and Britain, you'll have done two very characterful ones. maybe spend a week in each.
If you do, try this:
Italy: Rome, Tuscany, Milan, then into the Ticino (Como), and on to the Cote d'Azur in France.
Fly from the city of Nice or Marseille to London.
In England:
London, then get a car and tour the south coast from Brighton to Dartmouth, go north into Wales, and possibly fly back home from Manchester.

They say summer is the best time to go visit anywhere. However, that would mean lots of people doing the same thing also. I suggest you go just a little after summer when school has started already. You may get cheaper tickets since this is off season already. Consider a guided tour also unless you and your family are all adventurous and go off on your own at your own pace. Spain and Portugal are nice to see-so is Paris.

when my family went, we went during my winter break from school. we saw london, cornwall, england - a town in the southwest part of england (we stayed in a bed and breakfast), then we went to paris and saw the eiffel tower on christmas day, visited the notre dame and the champs elysees, and we drove to germany from there. it was soo much fun. i think it would be better to go on you own rather than a tour. have fun!
