I am taking care of 3 girls. Their parents are away for 22 days. I am staying at their home with my 3 years daughter. Kids goes to school during the week days (8am to 3pm). They have sport to go (basket ball, soccer, gymnastique, skating) Friends are piking them up and diving them back home (I dont have a car). I eat here, they provide the food. I do what a mom do...Cleaning, cooking, laundry, puting the kids in bed. I play with them, bring them to the leisure center, more activities...So I am wondering how much I should get? Also we talked, the parents and I about a fly ticket in exchange...The lady works for air canada so she mentioned that I can have a fly ticket???? But say that the fly ticket is about 1000$ round trip...so I should get more money to do the diference????

Well lets see, babysitting for 22 days, I would say : $25 per day.
Taxi for 22 days: $15 per day.
Housekeeping for 22 days: $25 per day.
Extras (movie rentals, ice cream, and any others): $10 per day.

So at a total of $75.00 per day that would be like.......$1650.00 For 22 days, however, you might lower the cost seeing as how, you keep your daughter there with you during the day, and you do the things that you would normally do at your own home.... Not only that, but you only have the big kids, in the evenings, and weekends.... So personally, I think $1000.00 seems pretty fair, but I take cash if I were you, unless you plan to fly anytime soon, because no matter your situation, you could always use the extra cash, whether to pay bills, or to put into your daughters savings accout...... I hope this helps a little bit...... Good luck with all those kids!!! :)

I am a babysitter and get $10/hour, plus gas money to drive the kids around. However, I don't live in the house. In your case, you have an immense amount of responsibility. It depends- do you really want/need that ticket? If the lady works for Air Canada, she probably gets a discount on the ticket, and is really paying very little for your services. Do not accept the ticket, you're getting ripped off, unless you absolutely need it. I would ask for at least $400/week. This makes me think, what kind of parents would leave their children at home for almost a month?

How did you agree to do this and not agree upon a price?
How many hours are you actually working for/with the kids?
How much would it have cost you to live somewhere else per day for 22 days?
How much would it had cost to feed yourself (and your child) per day for those 22 days?
How much are you having to spend out of your pocket to drive their 3 girls around?
I'd add up what the parents have provided you (shelter, food, etc) subtract what it cost you out of your pocket divide that by the number of hours you deal specifically with the three girls and if that amount isn't >$10.00 per hour, I'd have the parents make up that difference.

i would say it depends on the relationship with this family. The more closer they are obviously it should be cheaper, so if they are close the ticket is enough, otherwise 500 or sumthin'
