Thank you for putting "Christ" back into Christmas. How un-p.c. of you...thank the Lord! To answer your question: The Salvation Army is a good charity indeed and fully utilizes most of the donation monies received to help people all year round. Myself, I would donate to a single family that you know that could use the help. Ask at your church, if you do not belong to one...you could contact your local Ministers Organization and they can direct you from there. The women of most Elks clubs also help needy families with food "baskets" and gifts at Christmastime. If you want you could call your local Elks Lodge and ask them if there is a family you could help. God bless you for your donation to whomever you choose...Jesus has smiled upon you this day!

I have no idea about the organizations in your area. I have found out some awful disappointing facts about the Red Cross and some other world wide charities. Basically--no one is doing anything for free---the administrators get paid from donations. In the US the law says only 15 cents of every dollar has to go to the charity----this is an outrage. Find a LOCAL organization in your own area--where you can see your dollar at work. Better than that---give up some of your time and help a charity do it's work---you'll be a part of it and feel much better. Money is cheap---get out and roll up your sleeves....that's a real donation. Merry christmas

I am a woman who was a stay at home mom and one day my husband of 14 years surprised me with, "I'm not happy and I want a divorce." I suddenly had to take care of 3 young children on my own, get a job, and I started school full time.

While I'd be happy to give you my Paypal info (itsmeinin@yahoo.com, lol) I seriously am one of so many out there who could use help.

I hear things like, "I can't afford that" from people and think to myself, "You have NO idea". I am grateful just to have enough to pay my electric bill every month and keep everyone fed and in clothes without holes.

Things most people take for granted (renting a movie, putting gas in their car, throwing leftovers away) are the little things I truly "can't afford".

Having this computer and Internet service is a luxury to me that I can only justify with needing it for college.

There are LOTS of us. Look around. Look especially for someone not satisfied with being 'in the system' for life, but working hard to make things better for her family.

Find a family and sponsor them. Give them a gift certificate to a grocery store or department store or pay a utility bill. Take the kids shopping to get them all new shoes and/or coats. There are so many posibilities.

You'll know exactly where your money is going this way AND you'll never find a charity that will be as grateful and remember and appreciate the gift for forever the way the person/family you help out will.

Try to identify your own passions and find ways to help them (i.e. education, youth, health, etc.) Try to discover groups that are not as popular as larger organizations. Note that some organizations get a lot of money during the holiday season and are ignored the rest of the year. Do you want to give to one of these organizations, or an organization that is present throughout the year? Finally, always do your research on an organization before you give to them. Find out exactly where your money would be going. Don't trust an organization just because the rest of society seems to do so. Try to google "corruption in the American Red Cross" and you'll find out what I mean.

Love the CHRISTMAS Season.

Give to an organization that is closest to you. For Example:

My Mom recently passed away from complication with diabetes so I give to that organization.

My son has Williams Syndrome so I am also involved in this organization every year.

My Aunt suffers from MS so I donate to them as well.

These are organizations that are close to my heart so I only hope that what ever I can give, it will help others out there.

Tis the season for giving. You are a good person.

Call up a church and tell them you would like to donate to its poorest family. Send them a card and some gifts for their kids because I'm sure they are worrrying about what they can buy them. Put a little note in the card saying Merry Christmas and wish them a happy New Year. Maybe they might need some food for Christmas.

we've motives we help, and it isn't restricted to Christmas. i in my view DESPISE Wal Mart and different shops allowing those "beggars" to face outdoors their doorways. First, it really is continually prejudiced- the governmentcan be sure what agencies are and are not allowed to ask for donations on their sources. second, i bypass to Wal Mart plenty, and positively might want to no longer should be lower than pressure for donations each and each and every time I enter and go out, and that is what i think like takes position at the same time as they're status interior the entrance soliciting for donations. third, i understand the countless those who were accepting donations outdoors of our community Wal Marts were no longer valid charities. The managers might want to atleast be sure that- our state legal specialist generic has a listing of "Angel" charities the position most of the donations bypass to the reason and by no skill overhead. Please do no longer imagine that i'm adverse to charities because of my perspectives- I donate as I see in advantageous condition, in both time and funds. The agencies i'm in touch with do no longer beg outdoors of retailers, even with the truth that- and particularly paintings in the route of training human beings about the reason and accepting donations made because the human beings help the reason and do not only sense lower than pressure into giving or as if they're going to be a grinch in the journey that they do no longer.

to children's orphanages. the innocent children who are orphaned would love to get a christmas gift this year. there are so many children who are lonely on christmas day and so many people are only worried about their own families that they tend to forget that there are other children in the world who have no parents or families, nor any christmas presents. just to have christmas cookies and christmas wreaths and trees would be a special treat for these kids. but for them to wake up and have a gift to open or unwrap, would be just the best thing in the world.
if i had the money, i would donate gifts for these special kids in the world. there are so many orphanages in the united states which house jillions and jillions of children.
i hope you will make a donation to at least one orphanage home.
thank you for your christian spirit this season. GOD BLESS YOU.

I'd donate to your local place of worship, to me they are the most trustworthy and they make sure they are not just given gifts they are also fed in many ways. Another is the Salvation Army, they go to all who are in distress from storms and families who are having it hard all year and also at Christmas. You could also state on your gift that you want it to be used in a special way. Our city puts ads in the paper for families who have special needs..and that way you can make sure your gifts are going to the families who need it the most. Or you could go to a grocery store and buy some gift certificates and mail them yourself to families you are aware of who could use some extra help to feed their family for Christmas. Bless you for your big heart!
