If they go up to 4 or have bucks a pack will you stop smoking?

Wow It has been a few years since I smoked .. so would you pay 10 bucks a pack???

I said when they went over 2 bucks I would quit.Then I amended that to 3 bucks.Then I changed my mind and said 4 bucks.Then finally I started smoking cheaper brands,which are now 4 bucks where I live.Finally I had enough.After 22years of smoking and numerous tries at quitting through the patch,gum and my own weaning program,I quit cold turkey on August 15th of this year.I have not had another one since.I am not saying cold turkey is the only way to go but I will say this.If you are going to be successful YOU HAVE TO WANT TO QUIT FOR YOURSELF.If you are doing it for someone else it will never work.

I've paid 13 CAN $ for a pack of 25 cigarettes once i went to Canada, now that's expensive and i don't smoke that much. I think that if the price of cigarettes went up like 4X the actual price people (including me) will still buy them and in consequence enjoy them, probably not at the same rate but definitely wouldn't stop.

In canada I pay about $8 a pack. They would have to get close to 15 bucks a pack before I'd consider quitting.

Depends on the brand....in California you could find major brands for about 3-4 bucks and no name brands for around 2-3 bucks.
I buy by the carton...so it averages about $2.50 a pack.
But what I would pay is another story....I have quit before....several times....but I would probably buy them even if they were to reach 8bucks......on another note...my 1st pack when I started cost about 75cents a pack.

In MS, it's about $2-4. $4 for Virginia Slims, Capri, and Bensen &H, other that than that it's under $3/pack.

they are almost 4$ a pack here where i live and that is name brand the highest i would pay would be 5$ but i'm considering quitting

i pay 7 euro for a 20 pack which is around 7 dollars .....ireland is a rip off

No more than $6 w/ tax but here in CT they're already at 4.40.
