It is absolutely offensive to cavemen. Why isn't the FCC doing anything about these blatantly stereotypical commercials? Shut them down!

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER FOR THOSE TAKING THIS FAR TOO SERIOUSLY: I am trying to be funny.

on the surface no...it is not offensive...there are no cavemen left to be offended by this...

However, I do think that what is going on with these commercials is a bit deeper than a surface read. Part of what makes them funny is that the statement, "so easy a caveman could do it" is that it mirrors racist statements that people might have said in the past, that were considered acceptable at the time. Simply remove the word caveman and put in a racially derogatory term, and things quickly change.

I think that this adds mock politically correct language that doesn't allow us to use these terms anymore. It is a way to say something that is racially charged without saying something racially charged.

So, in the end, it is not funny. It is offensive because of the deep historical structure underneath it. It is not as innocent as it first appears.

Give me the lizard back , I do not care for the cave man and change channels when the actors start talking behind the so called real people. If they keep up the cave man much longer I will turn that off also.

what's yours- "I no longer clever being, me consume fleas, me placed on butt flap, I do conflict extra beneficial than Bush, vote for me." No- i think of that President Bush's motto has been and could continually be: "stay the direction."

No it's not saying anyone is dumb. It's just saying how easy it is that even a baby could do it!

I remember when i was younger i saw one with the geico gecko driving a toy car. It was funny! :)

I don't think the Fundamentalists think there were cave men.

I am so sick of things being "politically correct" that I'd like to urp.

I'm surprised the anti-evolution crowd hasn't made a stink, tho.
