my mom who is 83 years old recieve a paper bill that reads 1,000,000.and for her to hold it for a notice from someone,and she will be awarded the money , mind you this came from the UK. and she thinks she has really won .what should she do? hurry pls.

I am a retired Police Officer that has for many years investigated Internet fraud and advises law enforcement agencies. Albeit your letter says U.K. it comes from the Nigerian scam idiots. They use U.K. I.P. servers. This is an old scam that they will send you a check for a part of your winnings and instruct you to cash it and wire the majority to them and they will send you the larger amount, or they will ask for personal information such as name, address, phone and banking information. This is a scam. Your's sounds like the U.K. Lottery scam. There are many. The Internet cafes in Nigeria are nothing more than dens of scammers that target American, British and Australian citizens. Do not respond to it or follow any of the instructions in it. It will just lead to more scams being sent to you.

The old saying If it sounds to good to be true it proably is. It may be one of those scams where you need to to purchase some other produce first. Many versions of this scam go round. Unfortuanatly they target seniors and they usually lose out after departing with money. Best action would be to contact local police they can get approprate agency to check out.
