Is it part of some flipping around and rushing while playing?

Or does she lay there on her back stareing at you?

If she stays then she either is wanting you to touch her so she can scratch the hell out of you or she is showing she trust you SO MUCH she trust you with her life and is showing her trust. You can try to gentle brush your hand around on her belly (don't rub hard) and see her reaction. Some times a cat has a favorite place they love to be rubbed gently on their underside.

Do not be surprised or frightened if after a while she nips or attacks you,.. they don't have much way of communicateing or moveing while like that,.. you need to move for them to roll over,.. so they may go bonkers if you spend too long. Cats are like that,... don't be mad.

I am in agreement with many other answerers that she is exhibiting trust. She is exposing her most vulnerable body parts - her belly and her throat (many cats tilt their heads back as well, while in this position). She is indicating that she trusts you completely. She also knows you will probably reciprocate with a tummy rub or a chin scratch, which makes her love you even more!

Aren't cats wonderful? !

When a cat exposes its belly to you, it is exhibiting great trust.

If you can access the belly, you can kill the cat - she's showing both that you are superior (i.e., she's being submissive to you) and that she trusts you (she gives her life to you and trusts you not to take it).

You are being complimented!

Most likely it is a sign of affection. He/She wants to play and get attention. The cat is happy to be around you (lucky you) and now he/she is telling you it's time for love and attention!

It may be that the cat trusts you and is comfortable with you and that he knows you and he feels safe with you. And he doesn't think that you are a complete stranger.

She's being submissive, as she recognizes you as the alpha roll in the house....and most cats like their bellies rubbed.

An animal will only expose its belly if it is completely comfortable and trusting of you. She is submitting to you, and while she's in that silly upside down position, my guess is she wants her belly rubbed.

My cat does that 'cause she trust me and she wants to play.

Sounds to me like she's really comforable around you. She knows your not going to hurt her. She's presenting her belly to you, a very vulnerable spot on kitties, it could also be a form of submission, she could be letting you know that you're the boss. One of my kitties will sleep on her back, legs and arms spread. cutest thing ever.
