Until you say yes to God, saying no to sin doesn't matter. After you say yes to God, saying no to sin becomes easier and you can seek forgiveness when you stumble or fall.

Saying no to sin means nothing if you are not a child of God. You do not become a child of God unless you hear Jesus preached, believe he is the Christ, the son of the living God, repent of your sins, confess your belief in Christ, be baptized, and live a Godly life. These are the steps necessary to salvation (see the entire book of Acts, pay attention to all of the conversions to understand what needs to be done). This is the only way to say "yes" to God. Nothing else in life matters until this is done.

Yes to God. That's the first step.
Hopefully, after that, saying no to sin becomes easier.
