Yippee, someone with a brain.
You answered your own question, though... it's because their favorite book condemns these practices, so they feel safe condemning the practitioners. In general, the Bible is divisive and breeds fear and guilt. It does also contain some truth... but so does pretty much every other book out there. I have met a few people who choose to 'live by the book' and still manage to be good people, but they seem to be the minority.
A final thought... in all of the Bible, there is not a single DIRECT reference against lesbianism.... proof positive that the book was written by MAN.

Jesus said it was wrong. And if you believe in Him, why do you skirt the truth? All Christians should oppose the persecution of anyone. You are not judging anyone when you tell them something they are doing is wrong. I don't judge my kid when I say "don't say the "f" word" What's worse is these fundamentalists that hold up signs that say GOD HATES YOU. I do not agree with homosexuality but I believe the violence they endure is intolerable. Esp at the hands of a Christian. I can disagree with a life style and still love the person. Unfortunately, the homosexuals are starting to demonstrate hate toward Christians.

I agree with you, in that Christians don't always seem to "love thy neighbor" especially homosexuals. I'm straight and I used to be a "gay basher" until I got roomed with a homosexual in college. I didn't find out he was gay until the second semester. I thought we was a pretty cool guy and a great roommate; very clean, polite, considerate and all that. So when I found out I initially wanted to freak out, but I realized......he's still the same person. Long story short, I think people are afaid of what they don't know or anything different and I think alot of Christians are hypocrites and/or they only follow those scriptures that are convenient for them.
Life is too short to hate.....anyone!

Ignorance and arrogance.
Many quote Leviticus, but forget that that same book permits polygamy and prohibits such things as clothing made of cotton / wool blends.
They forget conveniently that Christ never said a word about homosexuality, but condemned the self-righteous man in the temple.
Basically, it's cafeteria style religion. You can skip whatever parts of the Bible you like as long as you carry the party line.

I am a Christian and I don't believe in persecuting anyone we are all sinners. However sin is sin. The Bible does not anywhere say not to call sin a sin It says no to judge in not condemning it does not say we should check our brains. The Bible teachs us that we are to make judgement concerning what is moral we are not to be hypocrites and how you measure someone will be measured to you and we are taught to forgive others as we are forgiven.

The Bible does not tell us not to judge. It simply says that we will be judged by the same measure we judge other people. It is impossible not to judge. Is there anything you like about another person? If so, then you have made a judgment. Therefore, it is wrong to determine what we like or to find good things about people according to what you have just said.

You are gathering passages that support your own question. There are references throughout the Christian Bible and in many religions on many things thought to be of a sinful nature.
One can either follow the Biblical rule or define it in such a way to justify their own way of thinking.
The Catholic Church imparticular believes in pro-creation, no birth control, no sex before marriage, so on and so forth. Thus the acknowledgment/participation and activity in homosexuality is forbidden within Church law.
The rules and laws of JUDGMENT are left to GOD. The laws according to "forgiveness" is according to man.
You are given the fortitude and conscience to forgive your fellow man of trespasses. GOD determines the "righteousness" of that person.

I don't hate homosexuals, I find that there are many nice ones. There are many nice non-saved people out there, but the issue is that all people regardless of being homosexual or not Will be judged and if their name is not in the Lamb's Book of Life Rev 20 they will be dead eternally.

We are not to judge by the standards of man, but by the Word of God.
John 7:24 - Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Matt 7:2 - For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
and God says....
Romans 1:27 - And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet........vs. 32 - Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
What matters most in all of this is not whether men or women judge these people, but the fact that they will be judged and damned by the Father during judgement. We as Christians should use the word of God to "judge" these people and show them the Truth.

Same here. Let the homos have at it. Otherwise some super sensitive guy would have taken my wife from jerk me.
Anyhow, have you ever noticed those that speak out against it the most adamantly are outed in the worst ways? It is like they are trying to cover for doing something they think is wrong. Jim West and Ted Haggard come to mind readily.
