Fortunately the whistle carries quite far, which means you don't have to live so close to the tracks that it feels and sounds as if the train is coming through your living room.

Quiet area (rural) earshot becomes even further away, with a faint whistle in the distance.

So, wherever there are tracks and crossings you'll find your romantic whistles' mournful moans.

Although I have never done 200 miles, I have done 160+ in 2 days. I would say that you need to work on your energy intake more than anything. At 15 you should be able to cycle 100 miles on flat land under normal circumstances. Realize that your body can only store about 1-2 hours of energy before you start downhill. The real trick is to learn how to keep you energy up during the 6 - 8 hours you will be riding. If its a benefit ride then find out what they will have for you at rest stops. I take some of the Goo packets and go through 3 of them in 100 miles. I also stop for the free orange slices and banana's and cookies. Also, make sure you drink gatorade with your water. It is important ***on long rides*** for you to have the salts that are in gatorade. It helps you body effectively utilize the water. Take it easy and draft as much as you can. I guess what I am saying is; 1. Train as much as you can...do not over train. Stay fresh. 2. Make sure your equipment is in top shape. 3. Understand your food & drink intake Good Luck, Cheers
