Word 2003:
If you typed the author, title, date, whatever all in one line without tabs, use Control+A to select the whole file.
Then, click Table, click Sort, by paragraphs.

If you used a table with headings (Author, Title, Date Published, etc) and tabbed column to column, again, select the whole file.
Then, click Table, cl Sort, then indicate the heading by which you want to sort.

Example: Word 2003 created ".doc" files by default. By default, Word 2007 creates ".docx" files. BUT that doesn't mean anything in your case. 2007 can read and handle and edit everything, even back to 95. This is the case for excel and powerpoint as well. Theo nly thing you need to worry about is if you are planning on giving a document to a friend with 2003 or bring it to school that has 2003, if you do that you have to go to "Save As" and change the file type to compatibility for 2003. Hope this is clear

Once you have your office application open, press the F1 key. This will open help. Click on the search tab, and type in the word 'sort'. You can then read how to do it, along with its many options.
