To help the children

2006-12-10 13:51:24 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 2 0

Because they are good hearted and caring. They want to try and help the child as much as possible. Some people get great satisfaction from helping others. I work in a hospital, it isn't a childrens hospital although, we do get them in here from time to time. Try helping out someone in need and see how you feel afterwards. You might find you feel great about it and yourself and that it isn't so bad after all. Best of luck to you.

Because they can do that type of volunteering, really help the children and not become a basket case when things go south.

No different than doctors and nurses working with children.

If the people love children and don't have any money to help them , but they really want to, and feel that they can help children by volunteering, that's what they do! They definitely have a big heart!

Because when children are scared and need someone to reach out to them those who do small things like volunteering at a hospital are considered heroic.

It's really heartbreaking to see kids suffering from diseases and all that. It's sad for anyone to be sick, but especially kids. They barely had a chance to live a healthy life. And they just want to be as normal as any other kid. If the least we can do by volunteering is put a smile on a kid's face and make their day a little brighter, encourage them to be optimistic - it could very well save their life. Unfortunately, it doesn't always happen that way, but it certainly is possible.

If it was your kid, wouldn't you want someone to do that for them if they were in that situation?

That is a really rude question.....I was in a childrens hospital for a lot of my childhood for heart surgery and many other problems and it was the volunteers that made my day. Maybe you should ask them why they volunteer.....its called helping people.

maybe someone who would want to volunteer at a childrens hospital would be someone who was sick and in the hospital, too, as a child. Or someone who had an attachment to someone who was sick and in the hospital as a child. maybe they lost a sibling in the childrens hospital and want to help others in memory and honor of the lost sibling....

Because sometimes helping the kids smile during some of their darkest times is just worth everything in the world. So why not volunteer?
