You can bring a really large batch of cookies in a decorative tin or something to contribute to the meal in a Christmas themed platter or serving bowl and put a bow on the side so that they know that the dish is a gift for them. If it is Christmas themed it will be a gift that keeps on giving year after year. Or you could just bring a nice floral arrangement it all depends upon your budget. A Christmas Themed CD for the family can work as well.
Enjoy your holiday!

A bottle of good wine or champagne, a box of quality chocolates, a lovely poinsettia plant, or something creative from your own kitchen, such as a loaf or bread or other baked goods. You only need to bring a gift to your hosts, not to every member of the extended family. It's an expression of appreciation for your having been invited, and is a very nice gesture. Have fun. A thankyou note after you've returned home, would also be nice.

You could bring a nice bottle of wine wrapped in a beautiful red velvet bag.
A poinsettia (Red Christmas flower) plant would be lovely.
You could home make chocolate truffles - very easy to do.
Beautiful Cinnamon scented pillar candles from Bombay Palace or Pier 1 Import.
A coffee Table book on the subject of Christmas.
Good luck - have fun!

Typical hostess gifts for any dinner are the same for holiday dinners. Items like a good bottle of wine, dessert, candy, flowers, candles, or fruit basket. Since it is Christmas you can these items in Christmas themes or colors. Have a good time!

If you cook you can bring a cookie box, candy assortment, homemade hot chocolate mix with cute mugs don't forget the little marshmallows. If you know them well you could buy a few bottles of wine and specialty cheese. Merry Christmas

never give a gift card! not to hosts, it's tacky. Poinsettias are poison especially to pets. not everyone drinks alcohol or eats sugar, but food is always a good gift. Fruit, prepare a large fresh pineapple and keep the crown on it for decoration. baked bread because it doesn't spoil easily.
if you must but an item, the kitchen towel idea was pretty good, especially if they are from a neat store.

I'd ask the person who invited you what they recommend. If you and the family are from different cultures (as it sounds), you could offer to bring something from your culture (a Jewish friend always brings hammentashen to our house for Easter...). Wine, chocolates, and flowers are also great ideas that don't risk upsetting your host's meal planning. Have fun!

A bottle of wine "wrapped" in one of those bags made for this specific purpose.
A set of hand towels embroidered with Christmas stuff.
A big box of good chocolates.
As this is a rather well off family, remember, quality trumps quantity every time
Good Luck!!.

If you are over 21 and the family drinks, I would bring a bottle of wine. You may also opt for seasonally appropriate flowers. If you have further questions, I'd advise buying an etiquette book. Mine has saved me often.

A nice wine is always a good touch, sophisticated and friendly.
But make sure it's a nice one.
A bottle of nice wine is always well appreciated :)
Port is very Christmas-y or even red wine.
White wine is more of a summer thing.
So, a nice bottle of Port or red wine is the way to go!
Chocolate is, of course, always good too.
