i have never really commented on anyone elses accent so yeah!!

Because the Aussie accent is beautiful and sexy! Can't explain why, it just is :-p You probably feel the same way when you meet someone with a cool Spanish accent or something.

Because it is. Australian accents are beautiful.
When I hear an accent, I always want to know where the speaker is from. To me, it's a great way to meet somebody new.
So enjoy it. The people ask mean well.

They've all seen imitations or real Australian accents in popular culture; numerous parodies; this causes great interest when they can be heard in real life. It's like the appeal of celebrities.

We're naturally fascinated with different things, but sometimes we're scared of them. In this case people are lovin' yer accent.
I have a bus driver who is Aussie, and I absolutly love his accent.

any accent is interesting when someone new comes around...but yours is one of those like french and italian accents...a romantic accent...consider it a blessing!!

Because they're not used to it. They notice it because it's unusual, and then comment out of surprise.
