No, you need atleast a commercial pilots licence, but before that you should get your Instument rating, otherwise you will be limited to flying only 50 miles from your departure point. Even with a commercial pilots licence, you cannot fly with an airline, thats a whole other ball game. With a commercial pilots licence you will be able to be A flight instrutor, crop duster, banner tower, to name a few, But NOT an Airliner.
Remember this- First get your PPL, (with this licence you can NOT fly for hire) next, Instrument Rating, then your Commercial pliots Licence, Right there your looking at A possible $40,000, thats before you even get a job. Im not even going to waste your time talking about becoming an airline pilot. One step at a time.

Once you get your private pilots license, you can't do anything for commercial hire. However, after you get some hours under your belt, you can get a commercial rating and take people for hire. This could launch your career in the piloting, if you're so interested.

No jobs. You need a commercial license.
As for the instrument rating, I find it hard to believe that without it you can only go 50 miles. In Canada, we go on a 150 mile solo cross-country trip before we even get our PPL.
