I'm with a wonderful man. I am happy when I am with him. Sometimes so much that I just want to jump around and smile all day. He makes me feel safe. He makes me feel content. He makes me feel relaxed. He makes me want to make him happy, and see him smile and laugh.
However, having dated eachother for 7 months, I lost the butterflies and the fluffy warm feelings after only 1 month together.
Is this love maturing, or is this the flame fading? (oh yes, I dated before him, but I never bothered to stick around for long enough to see how love actually feels. He just... well... he is special to me)

The butterflies are simply your body telling you that it enjoys what is happening mixed with the excitment and nerves you are feeling toward the moment. Once the two of you get to know each other more, the butterflies (a clear sign of the regual "infatuation") wears away. These butterflies have nothing to do with being in love. But once you are in love, you will be 100% positive that you are in love.
Loving another person is not simply restricted to a potential-marriage relationship. Keep this in mind throughout the duration of your relationship, and you'll know what you want and how to get it.

I'm in the same situation as you. My boyfriend is just as amazing as your's sounds. Like you, I have never really dated anyone long enough to get to this stage.
The butterflies, I think, is the feeling of lust at the beginning of the relationship. Now, the feeling of contentness and happiness you get when he walks into the room, or when he gives you a kiss just because, is what I reckon is the beginning of falling in love, if not love itself.
I'm glad you've found your special somone, I'm glad I've found mine, and I'm glad for anyone else who knows how it feels to be in a safe, secure relationship.

Butterflies are mostly due to new things,,insecurities of how it will all work out..You are comfortable with him now and that is a good thing..He makes you smile and glad to be alive so he puts a spark into you..that is love for sure..Just never doubt the way he makes you feel and enjoy it each day you live..God bless you both

Same here... but we've been together 6 years and are happy. It's hard to give advice on a situation like this when you don't know the people involved, you know? All relationships mature. So you're not lost in saccharine candyfloss moments - it doesn't mean you don't love one another.

no way...there are so many different types of love feelings. U might just have a gut feeling that he is the 1 u want to be with 4ever. U might feel different when u r around him compared to when u are around other males.
I hope everything works out

It is def. love maturing....you don't have to have the butterflies to be in love with someone.....If he makes you happy and you feel safe with him then you need to stick around...Best of luck!
