Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

The practice of "praying constantly" wears thin if you try to use your own words. Sooner or later, you're bound to slip up and repeat something.
Daily prayer is like taking your daily vitamin. People who say that repetitious prayer is wrong and will send you to hell are being extremely judgemental. What Christ was talking about was the practice of saying prayers, but not with any meaning, just to garner some kind of reward. Saying prayers out of duty has value, albiet a lesser value than a prayer from a contrite heart. To say them over and over is not for God's benefit, but for our own, for sometimes, hearing a prayer over and over may one day pound the meaning into it when suddenly you have the rug pulled out from under you and you taste that cup of bitterness and suddenly, the veil is torn from your eyes and your weakness becomes so apparent to you, and you look at that prayer you've been saying every day for that past 23 years and suddenly it all makes a kind of crazy sense, and you are plunged into the depths of His love and mercy...and....and...yeah. Repititious prayer: the rock upon which you may build your house, for if that house if blown away, there is your foundation: Allah Akbar!

God doesn't want to hear repetitive prayers that aren't truly from your heart like in Matthew 6:7. But if you read on it says this about praying.

Mat 6:9 Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored.
Mat 6:10 May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven.
Mat 6:11 Give us our food for today,*
Mat 6:12 and forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us.
Mat 6:13 And don't let us yield to temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.*
I believe having a book of daily prayers is a great thing to read and help you to start your prayers if your not that great at it. Then you can branch off from that and pray also what comes to mind. It just helps you to get in the habit of coming to God, and that He does like.

In the Bible it says, "use not vain repititions in prayer." Repeated prayers are vain and worthless. God wants you to pray your own prayers, and not repeated ones. When you say a repeated prayer, He knows you don't really mean it. Repeated prayers are just there to make you LOOK holy, just, and righteous. "Be not like the Pharisees" The Pharisees recited repeated prayers to make them look holy and spiritual. They weren't really holy OR spiritual. They were vain. Their prayers were meaningless.

God answers prayers that are genuine and come from the heart. He answers them with good rewards and happiness, even if it isn't exactly what you wanted. He also answers repeated prayers, but He answers them with punishment, consequences, and sadness.

God hears all prayers, but He answers them according to how sincere, honest, and how meaningfull they are.

I believe that God would prefer a real prayer that comes from your heart. if you are just reciting the same thing over and over again, it doesn't really mean anything. especially if its written by someone else.

I'm sure he doesn't hate it, but I think he appreciates it more if you take the time to really say a prayer that means something

I know what you are talking about i use to do that too, in my opinion you should just speak to him like you speak to your friends,i mean dont cuss to him for example, not saying that you cuss, but just be real with him, i mean someone else can have a prayer that helps you with things to say, but just have a genuine prayer, when you pray you dont have to be professional as when you go to an interview, just pray and pray for god to lead you to do the right things, and he will help you, but i hope this helps.

Prayer is just talking to God. Whatever comes from your heart. He already knows what you want even before you ask! This book is going to help you pray for things you probably haven't thought of praying for.

I believe God hears all prayers if you pray after saying "in Jesus name" for example I'd say "HEAVENLY FATHER" IN JESUS NAME I ASK YOU TO SEND THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THIS PERSON AND LET THEM KNOW THEY'VE BEEN HEARD,"IN JESUS NAME AMEN" I KNOW THAT A THOUGHT IS CORRECT OR IF A PRAYER HAS BEEN HEARD WHEN I GET A SLIGHT TINGLING SENSATION LIKE GOOSE BUMPS BUT NO BUMPS. THE SAME IF I HAVE A THOUGHT OF WHAT AN ACTION I SHOULD TAKE IS CORRECT ALSO. JUST AS I'M FEELING NOW, CUZ I'M TELLING YOU THE CORRECT THING TO DO, IN THE BIBLE JESUS SAYS "NO MAN GOETH TO THE FATHER EXCEPT BY ME"! I TAKE THIS TO MEAN THIS APPLIES TO PRAYER AS WELL, ITS LIKE A POSTAGE STAMP ON A LETTER, IF "IN JESUS NAME IS NOT INCLUDED IN MY PRAYERS IT GOES NO WHERE" I THINK IF YOU'LL INCLUDE "IN JESUS NAME" IN ALL YOU DO YOU WILL EXPERIENCE MORE IN RETURN FOR YOUR PRAYERS.....GOD BLESS..........JACK..........PS WHILE I WAS TALKING TO MY PASTOR ONE DAY I READ THESE WORDS IN THE BIBLE AT A TIME IN MY LIFE OF EXTEME HEART ACHE (42 YRS OLD) AND IT WAS LIKE A BRIGHT LIGHT CAME ON AND I BEGAN LAUGHING, THE PASTOR SAID "DID I MISS SOMETHIG? I SAID "NO, BUT I HAVE BEEN MISSING SOMETHING FOR 42 YRS"! SINCE THEN I HAVE "NO DOUBT" HE" HEARS ME ! JUST TRY IT AND SEE !!

prayer and thanksgiving. repeating prayer is doubt in disguise.
(James 1:8) A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

If you are a new believer God will answer prayers like that, but He also expects us to grow just as a child grows and with that comes more responsibility

God hears all prayers, however the Bible states clearly God does not like repetition.

Everything we do is based on the spirit of God,,..it's like we are people of flesh and blood and don't know what God wants..So it takes spirit to understand him...who's spirit? yours,,mine?...Let me be frank there is nothing about the salvation of christians..(with only ONE exception) that he or she did..or controls..the only exception is the choice you and I make...that's it..OUR choice...The beauty is if we desire for God to do a work in us ...we surrender to him through our choice and then everything about salvation says it came from him it was paid for by him ..it is his godly sorrow..that he gives us that he reckognizes..true remorse..a broken and contrite heart..he will not despise..

This is why people who think that they can readily sin and think they can just ask God to forgive...and this is pre conceived...or gonna find out that until they are truly sorry and repentant are just apeasing the flesh.

According to the word Jesus taught that God does not honor vain repetitions..Matthew 6:7 it says...But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
When you pray it should be that since you honestly do not know what to pray and how to honestly pray..that you should seek God .
SO let's se what the scripture says about prayer...Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

SO the thing is to pray in the spirit of God...This totally requires you to have a serious relationship with the Father through Jesus.
Another thing is if you get from men what to pray from books ..you are praying another mans conscience mind..with the exception of Jesus and his purpose was to have a format prayer..but it is and was not meant to be prayed everyday..it is a format...if you study the Lords prayer and follow the format..you will truly understand how to touch God in prayer..God bless
