Short answer: Yes. It is possible, especially for some personality types, to be forever in the moment and never looking beyond it. That being said, infatuation usually either grows into love or gets old fast.
But love is a funny thing. We sometimes think it is something when it is not and often don't realize it until it has bitten us rather hard.

I think it's possible to be infatuated for more than a year. Infatuation does not grow into love but it can be replaced by love, usually if you are in a relationship.

Infatuation is not the best emotion to determine where a relationship will go. Many people experience this feeling but never act on it. If the feeling is mutual, sometimes a relationship can develop, but it gets back to the "compatibility" issue. Some people are just charismatic and great at holding our attention, but when it comes to what they are all about character-wise, they crash and burn.

Infatuation often leads to love. To be infatuated for more than a year is a little too long. However, if that's what it takes then the consolidation is that your feeling has been reciprocated. Congratulations!

Well, it varies. I know that I've been infatuatedfor more than a year but in my case it's been slowly declining. But I know a couple of people whose feelings continuously grow. There's really no way to predict anything emotionally so the only thing you can do is let time tell you. Goodluck!

I dunno if this is what ur asking, but i read this book once called the 5 love languages, and it said how people can be infactuated with each other up to 2 years, but then after that they kidna see the other people's faults, and have to work at love after that by using the other person's love language. Each person has their own way that they can feel loved. 1) Words of affirmation 2) Acts of service 3) Physical touch 4) Quality time 5) Gifts. So most people feel more loved if someone gives them love in their specific love language. So after that 'in love' feeling begins to wear off, it makes things alot easier if you learn your partner's love language. Hope that helped.

infatuation is one-sided and unreciprocated (because most of the time, the other party has no idea) so, it's unlikely that it will grow into love. it can last for as long as five years...

it will eventually grow into love, no matter how hard you try to stop the feelings they keep building up until you have no control, so maybe you need to tell this person, or step back and make sure you won't loose this person if you do tell, so really think about it
