Maybe what you are feeling if pitty for him, maybe your heart is breaking for him because of the cancer. just be a good friend and yes you can love your friends just don't push the issue of BF/GF right now he is probably scared to think about a future you should really be proud of him for not making you his GF because he is trying to keep you from having a broken heart if he does die from the cancer. but just keep on being supportive to him you never know he may beat this and a couple years from now you may be writing about him as your husband. trust in fate.

Sometimes when someone has such a disease they see no need for a bf/gf...Just be there for him..Listen to him and give him a shoulder to lean on...Laugh with him and be his bestest friend he ever had..Sometimes have an ultimate best friend is the best and far better than a bf or gf...Let him know you are always there for him no matter what he goes thru..We all need someone we can lean on so be that rock for him...God bless you hun

im in a simliar situation, except the cancer part. just be really close, flirty, trusting friends. that's the most u can do at the moment, not making it offical is sometimes the best option
