Do you men prefer to keep the old fashioned values and chase after the girl, and court her around before a serious relationship? OR have we all gotten to a day and age where its now become "equal" so everyone seems to be meeting halfway? such as going dutch on dates and meeting in a neutral location?

personally, i don't think the feminist movement did as much good for women as it did bad..that's just an opinion mind you but i kind of liked the days when men were men and women were put up on the pedestal more often..lol..but hey, that's just me?

A very interesting question. I for one am a very old fashion kind of guy. I will always offer to hold a door for a lady, or give up my seat to a lady on the subway. When I invite a lady to dinner, I will pick up the check without even thinking about it. This goes back to the way I was brought up, and it show respect for the lady, and is a basic courtesy that should be followed by more people
Now on the other hand, I will graciously accept a door hold or a dinner invite from a lady. A feel very flattered that she thought enough of me to show me that courtesy, and it would be rude to not accept it with a thank you.
To me any relationship should be based on consideration and reverence for the other person, no matter whether it’s a long term relationship or a casual meeting on the street. This would be a much better world if everyone would treat each other in this manner.

Speaking as a man and having never had any woman ask me out I would prefer it if they did make the approach at least some of the time.
I mean everything in todays society is getting to be pretty much equal in regards to salaries, jobs and everything else. So i think this should follow suit. As for going dutch sometimes I like to pay for everything and sometimes if a woman wishes to pay for something then I will let her as I then risk upsetting her or something...!!
I believe neutral locations shoulkd always be chosen for dates as neither person can be ignored plus if you dont know anyone else around then you can concentrate fully on your partner for the evening and give them the attention they deserve!!!
This is my feelings on the matter, I hope that it makes sense.....!!

1) On the getting together part.. I won't put up much of a chase.. e.g. the "hard to get" tactic for me just gets ignored. Much better to meet on level ground... If you're interested let me know... If you're not (that's the way HTG looks to me) then I move on.
2) Once together.. Dutch is o.k. but I like to spoil my ladies also... I actually have a need to do this.. The times when I don't have a lady in my life, I grab one of my lady friends and spoil them...
It's just something I like to do..
3) IT'S ABOUT FEELINGS AND FEELINGS ARE GREAT!!!! - lets not make it all sterile and lifeless.

Now, my friends call me old-fashioned sometimes. I don't smoke, drink, or go to clubs. I am also a virgin and I intend to stay that way until I get married. But I think I speak for most men when I say that we're tired of having to bear the entire burden of courtship. Women should help out too and be reasonable in their expectations of us. Good night!

There are some old fashioned gents still out there they are just few and far between but don't give up looking for them. For now a day's we do have the players but some where there is gentelman with all the right moves that will sweep you off your feet. so raise your glass and do a toast for finding a good man

I am an old fashioned romantic. Meet the parents and I pay for dinner etc. Send flowers, candy , cards, the works. I meet ladies that want to jump in bed right away......not even sure of their name pronunciation for gosh sakes. I at LEAST like to shake hands....lol.....( sigh ) the old days are gone and I'm almost extinct.

Oh hun, the thrill is in the hunt, in the dance.
Nothing is sexier than a smart, confident woman that challenges me. One who is smart enough to call me when I am playing games. One who, I think I am chasing, but in reality she is reeling me in. One-nighters are a dime a dozen, but a woman that makes you get to know her first, and challenges me....thats where the real fun and romance is.
