When I was in Virginia, I had many white friends, and many black Friends... I have noticed that when I roll with my white Friends, cops are very friendly people. But when I roll with my black Friends, cops are jerks. I hate the police. They abuse their power. Most of the people who love cops have probably never experienced their prejudice, or never even had a Friend in that situation, probably because they live in an area where people assume to be good. But if you live in the slums, where people are assumed to be scum, the cops are a whole different story, finding any excuse to search someone, because they KNOW they will find something 75% of the time. If you did that same thing in the nice neighborhoods, I'm sure you would find it at least 45% of the time (I don't really know, but I'm sure they all commit crimes just the same). The problem is not they they are correct to say you can search them and find something, it's that they do it unconstitutionally. I'm sure they do it because the people in the slums don't have enough money to hire a real lawyer who will get them out of the situation. If they tried it on rich people, what's the point? Mommy and Daddy will bail them out. I think we give too much power to the government in general. Cops can be handy when a serious crime is taking place and you need help, but when their harassing you over some bullsht, they suck. They should be here to protect and serve, not harasss. I like when they protect, but I hate when they harass.

Generally, the police do a great job and are too lenient with criminals. Violent criminals should be dealt with accordingly. Many inner city communities need to stop blaming the police and do a little soul searching in order to find the root cause of their hatred for the police. There is a very good reason why I don't have the same "inner city" problems in my neighborhood.
The misplaced anger should be directed at the criminal element and efforts to clean up neighborhoods must start within.

The problem is, you believe everything the media tells you. Cop shootings are really rare. That's why they are on the news!! That's why it makes a good story! The media is actually disappointed when a minority is not involved! B/c so is everyone else. The cops are human and not perfect either, ever think of that? Do you have someone hanging over you while you work always scrutinizing everything you do when they have no clue what you should be doing, only their idea of you should be doing! You are one to preach about discrimination when that is what you are doing. The hypocrisy is what needs to stop! Who is getting away with murder? Everytime a cop does exactly what he was trained to do, he's on the media being called a killer for his kids to hear and you never ever ever hear the whole story. You can't make it better until you try to understand the other side and look at the news for what it is, entertainment! You're right it's not fair, so stop hatin and pull your head out!

OK, that is a completely unfair statement.
I mean, read your question again.
"HATE" the police?
First of all, the police is too general a term. There are many honest police men that are serving all around the U.S.A., trying to help out and be as loyal as they can to the morals and values which America stands for.
Second of all, without the police, there would be no security. So even though today's police might not be as good as you want them to be, you wouldn't even be able to read this answer without the police around- your laptop/computer would probably have been smashed by a passing criminal. Hating the police is an absolutely ridiculous thing to do. Without the police, there would be hundreds of people - no thousand of people- turning up dead on the street, in their homes, and outside. There would be no order, only violence.
So you can say that you hate today's standards for police performance and the recent events have led you to believe that the police are pushing their rights a bit too far, but saying that you hate the police...well, that's just plain unreasonable.

Yes there are some cops that abuse their authority. But for the most part I know if I need one they will be there doing their job. Their job is not easy & they put their lives on the line every day for people like you that hate them! But they still do it because that is their job! I bet you would be the one yelling the loudest for a cop if you needed one and would forget to tell them thank you for being there for you. It is nice to tell them you appreicate them for what they do. I worked in law enforcement and met many officers that were very good at their jobs and cared for the people. So no I do not hate police officers!!

No, I don't hate the police.
The first thing that might help you with your hatred is to look into specific cases, and not make so many generalizations. You claim that police are getting away with murders, yet you've not given us any examples. You claim discrimination against young males, but have not told us how, when, or where. The last thing I see is that you are upset by killings of people who were not armed, but a firearm is only one thing of many which can inflict serious bodily injury or death.
This sounds more like misinformation on your part and not "madness" on the part of the police. When a cop points a gun at a criminal and says "Stop!", he's usually pretty serious about it.

I like the police...they got some good tunes....no on a serious note...there are people everyday getting away with things...not just the police...so shouldnt you be mad at evil not at the police.... Now you cant say that they killed unarmed people...because as far as they knew the people that got shot might have been armed... you never can tell... ALL cops do not discrimate against young people..hell most cops these days are young people... i know more cops under the age of 25 than above.... plus if you dont want them to discrimate against you then dont act like you hate them.....

Go to another country and see what rights you have. Not all 'cops' discriminate against young men and I am assuming you mean young black men as that is what most people believe. I, as a law enforcement officer, look for the things that the rest of society sees but does nothing about. When something happens nobody sees a thing which leaves us to dig harder to find the truth and prosecute those responsible for committing the crime. Don't believe everything that you see on TV or read in a newspaper. We are not all racists, we are not all biggots, liars, thieves, etc etc etc. Are there racists in police work, absolutely. Are there racist judges, lawyers, doctors, welders, hamburger cooks, bus drivers, cab drivers....need I go on.....absolutely. Officers are tasked with finding and stopping or prosecuting criminals. Some of those criminals will kill police officers for no other reason than they are trying not to go to jail. This leaves that officers family and children without their loved one and the criminals family without a father/mother etc. You must understand that seeing the things we see on a daily basis tends to make us hardened and a tad bit cynical. We tend not to trust others, even our own, and look at the world in a different way. I have yet to get a call from my dispatcher telling me that Mr and Mrs Jones wanted me to come by their home and enjoy a nice dinner with them on Christmas because they know I'm away from my family. Most of the time I'm going to Mr. and Mrs. Jones home because Mrs. Jones overcooked the turkey and Mr. Jones beat the crap out of her then wonders why I'm putting his sorry but in jail all the time saying to myself how sad this is because I want to be with my family, even with an overcooked turkey but bubba is being an idiot. As far as the killing of unarmed citizens, I must assume you are talking about the recent shooting in NY. All I can say is go stand in the road while a car is coming towards you. You will be in fear of your life and will consider that car as a weapon much like the officers did I'm sure. The officer shoots to stop the threat, not to kill. It is unfortunate that sometimes the criminal dies, but remember life is about choices and sometimes they make the wrong choice, white/black/purple or pink. I suggest you ride with an officer for a couple of nights and see the reality rather than the news. The first time you see a baby killed by a drunk driver or some idiot who just couldn't deal with the crying you'll change your mind, trust me. Until then, please wait for the evidence to come in before you render an opinion. If the officers are wrong, then they should and will be punished.

The only way we can stop the police from harassing innocent folks is to permit more criminal activity. Its a catch 22. When criminals are lingering in the area, they are much like bees and wasps that are about to attack- You often have to kill them in advanced so that you can ensure that you do not get stung, however, the bees and wasps probably had no intention of comming anywhere near you. Likewise if you think that you are not going to get stung and you think that the bees and wasps are going to mind their own business then you eventually get stung, you will wish that you had done something to get rid of them.
It can be very unnerving at times when there are criminals standing across the street from my house waiting for me to leave home so that they can break in, or they are standing in a parking lot at the store waiting for me to go into the store so that they can break into my car. I wish the cops could just arrest them ahead of time. But until they actually commit a crime, the cops cannot do anything. Likewise, when you come out of the store and all of your windows are broken on the car and some of your posessions have been stolen the cops cannot say that they saw anything because they didn't question anyone.

I see that you av is of a black woman. Since you seem ok with the concept of making wide sweeping, dumb generalizations about police...would it be ok then if I were to start making wide sweeping, dumb generalizations about black people?
If not.....why not?
After all....black people are just 12.8% of the US population and yet 26.8% of the arrests in 2003-2004 were black people. Does that mean blacks are twice as likely to commit crimes? Should I think that all blacks are criminals?
See how dumb this is? You said that police discriminate against black males and assume that they're good for nothing. You say that blacks are human beings too....well so are the police.
I'd advise you to stop generalizing and painting all police with the same brush. You SAY you don't like it when police do that and yet you go and do the very same thing.
Stop being a hypocrite.
