I don't have kids, but I work at a mall, and yes, these kids get out of control sometimes. Its because parents would rather let their kids do what they want then discipline them. Parents anymore are afraid to discipline their children because the fear their kids would hate them. Either that or they are too embarassed to acknowledge what their kids are doing at the mall. My mother beat my rear end if I was bad in public and every mother should

Why you ask? Because we want them to nap. We're exhausted, it's too cold for playgrounds, and the mall has lunch, rides, and thank God, Starbucks. I do let my son run slightly ahead of me as long as there are no crowds. He is always within a few extra steps from me and he ALWAYS falls asleep on the way home. My advice is to stay away from the malls during the holidays - if it's not the kids ticking you off it will be something else.

I guess they are hoping and wishing someone would kidnapp their kids cause if they didn't they would be watching them.
I don't get it either but you know that are the kind of kids that nothing never happens to and the ones that do get watched are the ones that bad things happens too. It is strange when you do sit and think about it.
Anymore parents do not care, people like that should have their kids taken away from them

im a mother to a very active 2 and a half year old and to be honest its very hard to keep her still, so we have rules that when we shop she either gets in a shopping trolley or she has to hold hands, or its straight home with no goodies, its worked a treat and i no longer have to worry about my chile being one of those kids running a muck... i totally dont understand how people let their children run around the mall its not right, its all a matter of safety, for them not getting hurt and for them to not be snatched by strangers, some people just dont care

Some parents just are irresponsible and have no courtesy to the people around them. It really irritates the HELL out of me. I've even seen kids that are TOO tall (according to the height restrictions) for the play areas in the mall and parents let them go.
Happened once to me....some older kid that exceeded the height stick toppled my 1.5 year old right over.....she screamed and it scared her, but still.....there that kid was...and his mother was right behind me like it was no big deal.
Freakin' ignorant people need to be sterlized.

As a mother of 4 I don't understand that either. My kids must stay beside me at the store or I leave. I do not put up with that. Especially in a world that children are kidnapped every second!

I don't take my kids to the mall. There's no way they'd behave there. Parents don't want to be parents anymore, they want to be friends with their kids. Kids have enough friends!

Because, these days everyone throws any kind of discipline off as "child abuse". Resorting to parents being afraid to give their children spankings..
I don't understand any of that stuff myself.
