Drinking Pure Hot Chocolate - Cacao content up to 100% is a very healthy concoction because it contains flavoniods, a very powerful anti-oxidant. Adding milk will lessen the beneficial effect of the flavonoids. Instead of adding artificial sweeteners, use muscovado or brown sugar.

it is good but in moderation and not drinking it everyday! it is bad if you abuse it but good if you drink it since caffeine in chocolate or cocoa is healthy for you with the latest research done in which it increases your metabolism but yet you also need to watch what else you eat and to work out too! it is bad in the the ways with all the sugar it has and all the carbs and so forth yet has fewer cals than a frapuccino from Starbucks, way less cals! my best bet: drink it once in a while but not every day and make it as healthy as you can!

If it's made with milk then you get all the benefits of milk. The cocoa itself is not going to be of much use. Although it contains antioxidants, the proteins in the milk will bind them so that they are rendered immobile. Furthermore, hot chocolate usually requires sugar, which is definitely not good for you.

Its FANTASTIC!
What can be better than something that you can share with loved ones, and makes you feel warm and cozy?
There is that bit of extra sugar and calories......But everything in moderation is good..
If you drink hot chocolate every single day, in large quantities...maybe you can try switching to an herbal tea with honey--- it also can give you the warm cozy feeling, with an added sense that you're doing something good for your body..
But dont stop drinking hot chocolate. :)

As long as you drink it in moderation, it isn't bad for you. Make it with cocoa powder - it is much healthier and less fattening that way than made with chocolate. Also, using a sugar substitute will cut the calories even more (but they say those are bad for us also).

Cocoa - from a box, - mix with a 1/8 cup of water, and cook in microwave oven for about 20 to 30 seconds - make sure it does not boil over.
splenda - 0 calories for sugar
non-fat milk
Great and chocolate (cocoa form) is good for your brain power.
