Ok. So I just found some Lexapro in my house, that I had no idea anyone was even using by the way? But lately Ive been having these wierd anxiety attacks. If I were to take it tomorrow, would it even help. But most importantly would it be dangerous? Would it do any harm to me??

Lexapro is strong medicine and not sold over the counter for a reason. Like some of the serious side effects arecoma; confusion; convulsions; dizziness; nausea or vomiting; shortness of breath; fast or irregular heartbeat; headache; increased thirst; muscle pain or cramps; swelling of face, ankles, or hands; decreased urine output; unusual tiredness or weakness.

Plus Lexapro takes 2-8 weeks to kick in. So I would not risk it. I'd go to your doctor and tell him/her whats going on. It might end there or you might need thearpy or medication. Only your doctor knows.

I would never ever take anything I didn't have a Rx for. SSRI's, like Lexapro, take a week or more of regular use before patients even begin to feel relief from anxiety and depression.

If you talk to your own doctor about these anxiety attacks you've been experiencing lately, he or she can help you decide what might help you. He or she may give you an Rx for an SSRI and/or may help you find a good counselor.

Besides, if there's someone in your house hiding medicine, how can you be sure that what SAYS it's Lexapro is REALLY Lexapro? It would be terrible if you took some unidentified pill that sent you to the ER.

Lexapro will not help your anxiety attacks. See your doctor about a more appropriate medication. And if you take the Lexapro, the other person in your house that needs to take it won't have it. That will cause a lot of problems for that person.

It takes one to two weeks for lexapro to reach therapeutic levels. One dose will do nothing to help u. If u r having anxiety attacks, u need to see a dr to help u find the treatment that is right 4 u. Do not take someone else's medication.

Lexapro is an antidepressant, which would actually make your anxiety worse. So the answer is no.

Taking other people's meds is very dangerous.

Don't take anyone elses meds. I take Lexapro for my anxiety but just one pill won't help. you have to take it for a few months for it to start working.

yep dangerous
you DON't know for sure what it is

why risk it?

Go to a psychiatrist or even your MD and get a referral to see someone
that could prescribe something that will work for you
Truthfully though from what I've read the medicine
just takes the edge off

If you truly are suffering anxiety
you need to get counseling to help you thru whatever is triggering this.

Never take meds that do not belong to you Because of the fact that you don't know how your body chemistry will react with certin medicines. You may have a Alergic reaction to that Med.

Usually the dosage given by doctor differs for each individual.so even if u have to use them ur dosage would be different.
it would definitely be dangerous for u to use someone elses medication . dont start playing games with ur health.
