Scientology doesn't use violence. It would be oxymoronic to use violence to convert people when Scientology is here to help people bring them to higher states of spiritual awareness.
The Aims of Scientology are:
A civilization without insanity, without criminals and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where man is free to rise to greater heights, are the aims of Scientology.
PS: Zero Cool above is an athiest who not only doesn't believe in religion, he actively works against it. He tries to create religious hatred. It is through people like him that violence is created in society.

In a sense they do. Scientology is a mind control cult. They certainly use psychological and emotional violence to control people just as the Moonies and the Mormons do. And if you read up on scientology you'll find that people have alleged actual physical violence when they rebeled against scientology.

Real Christians did not support the Inquisition.
A Christian is someone who tries to live like Jesus did. Since when did Jesus, the Lamb of God, ever torture anyone into believing in Him?
Read what Jesus taught to find out what a Christian really is.

What is your purpose with this question??
Regardless of the misuse of religion that some men have demonstrated in the past, the message that Jesus tried to give us recorded in the N.T. is pretty obvious. Love and tolerance of your fellow man. There's nothing about the use of violence.
If you must use this forum to bash and snipe at Christianty, at least have the courage do it overtly.
Or maybe I'm confused..... prehaps you intended to bash and snipe at Scientology?
Or prehaps you are just being economical with you questions and points and bashing 2 religions with one question.
Either way you are still no better than the "inquisition" you are accusing and suggesting.

Paul, the apostles, and of course the Christ Jesus were not violent.
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18
So again I ask, is it Christmas that is bringing this out in you folks or is it some hobby of yours challenging things you refuse to understand.

They DO use violence. Not necessarily to convert, but to intimidate and control current or past members either to remain in the "church" or to force an end to the efforts of those who would spread the truth about their cult. Consider these examples:
• Operation Freakout - Their campaign of sabotage and violence against Paulette Cooper, the writer who published her research and findings on several cults, including Scientology: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Krasel/cooper/frk.html
• Fair Game - the Scientology policy detailing how the organization may confront and handle critics and alleged "enemies". "Enemies may be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed. http://www.xenu.net/archive/disk/fairgame.htm"
• Violent Kidnapping - Lisa McPherson was a Scientologist, became mentally unstable, was kidnapped by agents of Scientology, held against her will, refused proper psychiatric treatment and allowed to STARVE TO DEATH. This is from the coroners report:
"Cause of Death: Thrombo-embolism left pulmonary artery
due to: Thrombosis of left popliteal vein
due to: Bed rest and severe dehydration "
http://theunfunnytruth.ytmnd.com/
• Jeremy Perkins - A CBS “48 Hours” special on the mentally disturbed son of Scientologist parents who refused to put him on the anti-psychotic drugs that would have stabilized him & prevented him from killing his own mother. http://www.scientomogy.com/jeremy_perkins.php
But SHOULD they use violence? Absolutely not. Then again, Christianity considered it an acceptable means to an end... I don't believe this is the case, but who knows... maybe Scientology will rampage through our "villages" one of these days.
