I dated a guy 6 years ago and had a wonderful time. He changed jobs and moved and we lost touch. Recently I found him and sent him a hey how you doin email and he responded. Just this weekend he called and we had a WONDERFUL converstaion and were making plans to meet up the next day. While we were on the phone a friend showed up at my door and I asked him if I could call him right back. I tried to call back in like 10 minutes and no answer. It was late so I assumed that he had fallen to sleep. Needless to say the day we were suposed to meet came and went and I have not heard anything. I have called and left several messages and a few emails but still no response. Does anyone have any idea what went wrong and should I still hold out hope that we can be together?

Maybe something happened in those ten minutes or he just decided he didn't want to see you anymore and didn't know how to tell you. Sometimes things like that happen...

you seemed desperate that's what went wrong, if only you would have been cool about it, SEVERAL MESSAGES AND FEW EMAILS?!! come on !! you scared the poor guy ! 6 years is a long time people change. please no more calls or messages or emails, just don't rush, take is easy. By the way when you were talking to him, right before you told him 'i will call you back'....the friend you said showed up at your door.....let me guess...that friend was a male ! if so poor guy hear the voice and you told him you will call him back , he probably thought you are in a relationship, and that the plans you guys were making to meet wasn't really a date, but just freaking friend's reunion.

I would move on. If he really wanted to see you, he would have made the effort to get in touch. I wouldn't dwell on it...if it's meant to be, it will happen.

He can't have been that important to you if you could put him off after all that time that easily. You probably hurt his feelings.
