Actually, no, the islands still belong to England following the conflict and the majority of islanders are of Scottish descent.

Politically and economically, they belong to Breat Britain. Infact they have for many many years been British, however, the Argentinians seemed to think they belonged to them, enough to start the Falklands conflict back in the eighties. The conflict was won by Britiain, and therefore the Falkands (Las Malvinas) remain under soverign rule, and British ownership.
Many an Argentinian will argue that the islands truely belong to them, however, the people that live on the island are of British decent, and see themselves as an extension of the British mainland.

Yes the Malvinas islands are Argentinian - unfortunately there is no such internationally recognized place. It is easy for any country to claim sovereignty of a fictitious location. There is an ISO geographic designation containing the word Malvinas but not the phrase Malvinas Islands.

The Falkland Islands, the internationally recognized name for the chunk of land you may have in mind, however are a dependency of the United Kingdom (not England, not Great Britain).

So apply the same 'logic' & Argentina belongs to the Diaguita, Guarani, Tehuelches, Rehuelches, Rampas, Matacos, Guaycures, Huerpes, Mapuches, Incas etc.?

So if you're of Spanish decent you should leave Argentina & return it to the original inhabitants.

PS The Falkland Islands are an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom.

The Malvinas are occupied by UK but claimed by Argentina as part of their territory. ALL maps made in Argentina put Malvinas as part of their territory and ALL argentinians think so. I think Argentina will get full control of the Malvinas some day.

If in any respect London Olympics, being abode of cricket, have been the terrific ideal place to introduce cricket on the international point. With super infrastructure already in place, alongside with nicely prepared governing physique, it could have blanketed cricket, may well be as an exhibition game, if not medal game. that would have given cricket a stable platform, for destiny ideal participation, with greater moderen Olympic worldwide places additionally transforming into conscious of this game, for coming Olympics..

So the Argies might as well have them I suppose.

Mind you a lot of brave lads were involved in the FALKLANDS conflict so this question will annoy a lot of people.

Which- I have NO doubt- is your real reason for posting this question.
