i think the Specialized Demo and Big Hit are in that price range. these are more downhill style bikes, but you'll enjoy the extra suspension and they look sick. Specialized is a reputable company and known for high quality bikes.

If you get a used bike from eBay, ridemonkey, pinkbike, or mtbr.com you can pretty much get anything in that price range (ok almost anything). I would look at the Jamis Dakar XLT, Santa Cruz Heckler, Specialized Enduro and Turner 5 Spot. Again some of these bikes new will be out of your price range but if you look around you will find what you're looking for. Look on MTBR.com for reviews of each bike before you buy and if you have any local bike shops try test riding a few to get a good feel. Again with that budget you can get a pretty sick bike. I would stay away from the 6"+ suspension (Santa Cruz VP Free/Bullit and Specialized Demo/Bighit), unless you are looking for a freeride/downhill bike. They will be "more" of a bike than you are looking for in an all mountain bike...they aren't fun to push around on the trails.
Good luck and happy trails!

custom builds are continuously going to be more advantageous expensive. an entire suspension is going to be depending on the rear wonder. you want low % compression valving to make the bike pedaling helpful. some suspension designs are pedaling helpful interior the way they articulate yet nonetheless use those shocks. i in my opinion like finished suspension motorcycles yet a hardtail of similar high quality outfitted w similar elements will drop 3lbs. different body constructive factors must be a million"a million/2 tapered head tube and 142 hub spacing. quite good decision on elements so a techniques. i ought to favor a Fox drift 100rlc a million"a million/2 decrease crown 15qr with terralogic. FSA crank set seems slightly on the AM section. Shimano has more advantageous suited shifting. 10speed stress trains commence with Deore now, commence there and strengthen in case you could. Any tire switched over to tubeless (you should do the rim too) ought to really help. look at Stan's no tube video clips on YouTube, this is official and less demanding than they tutor. Flat bars for bypass us of a. they're expensive yet Chris King hubs on No Tubes rims for wheels Mavic Crossmax SLR wheels for off the shelf wheel gadgets. 29 inch wheels.

Boy, that's a wide range. Probably you can search a Titus Motolite complete for 2500 or maybe a little bit more, or also a Santa Cruz Blur LT or something like that.
Also consider a Santa Cruz Heckler, Specialized Stumpjumper FSR, Cannondale Prophet, Iron Horse MK III.
Actually there are a lot of good bikes in that range. You should look for a bike that fits you well, also, if your local bike shop supports or deals with them it's a good thing.

For an all around Mountain Bike, I think Santa Cruz Superlight or Blur LT would be your best choice! Santa Cruz makes great bikes at a reasonable prices. I know three people that own Santa Cruz bikes and they're all very happy with their purchases.
