Someone has already said that a majority of people in the world is Christian (I do not know if this is true, but I also don't know if what you say is true as well).
I'm not implying Christianity is the best religion either, do what works.
Anyways, to the point:
Are most of these people practicing Christians?
How strong do they feel about Christianity?
Many people in prison go back or become Christians AFTER they have committed the crime.
Factors such as these have to be looked into...
This is too hard of a question to simply say Christianity is a failure because of coincidence.
Most criminals are men, does that mean if my child is going to be a criminal if I have a boy?
You also have to ask, are all Christians criminals? I'm sure, witout even looking for the truth in statistics, that this is true (since the majority of people are not criminals).
So...how can Christianity fail when perhaps only 10% of Christians are criminals and a large portion of people are Christian and are NOT criminals?
Also, please provide more information on where this correlation is taken from, if it applies to the world or just U.S., etc...

The practice of Christianity doesn't fail as a way of life. Giving in to temptation to sin fails as a way of life. Your statement presents a false dichotomy. It's like saying "since most criminals are men then why do men fail at life?". The question doesn't allow for a consideration of other factors not the least of which is that there are more people in this country who "claim" to be Christians because their parents took them to church as children or something like that but who don't have any evidence of being true Christians who are devoted to Jesus and living a life that is pleasing to God.

I don't think it is a failure as a way of life, but a failure of the individual. If you were in Iran, the majority of criminals would be muslim. Does it automatically discredit Islam as a way of life? I don't think so. Don't just the many by the few.

We have been brainwashed with "Islam is a peaceful religion" and yet there is a whole group of radical muslims trying to kill all Americans or Britans. Does that make the whole religion wrong?

Where did you get that statistic? If you are living in a community where 90% of the people call themselves Christians, then of course most of the criminals will be Christians, but they aren't criminals because they are Christians. They are criminals because they are criminals.

This may be true but only because they realized, after they committed the crime that what they did was wrong, and knew that they needed to except Jesus as their personal savior, in order to be forgiven for the sins that they have committed. Basically when they committed the crime they were lost souls and after the fact they became Christian. Isn't it funny how God looks at them with happiness and glory but looks at you with sadness and shame? If you change your ways now you also will have and feel the eternal happiness that these "criminals" feel. Why don't you give in to the glory of God and his only son Jesus Christ so you can live eternity in heaven. What do you say?

its not a failure as a way of life first of all.

secondly since when are most christians criminals.
thirdly alot of criminals, if you wanna label them that way, become christians through prison ministry after seeing the error of their ways and want a better life once they get out or if they never get out just while they're inside

It is because there is an aspect of Christianity that appeals to criminals. I am not saying that Christianity is a deviant religion or that all Christians are criminals, it is just because Christianity tells us that we are all sinners and need to ask for forgiveness, but we CAN ask for forgiveness and recieve it. Christianity appeals to cirminals and became popular because the average man is more or less a criminal.

Because (a) most churches teach a watered-down version of the Bible's truths, and (b) people are not taught to take it seriously, to apply it in EVERY aspect of their lives. Too many religions talk about church traditions, politics, or focus on the pastor/preacher's personality (see David Koresh or Jim Jones). A lot of what the Bible says is unpopular, either to most people or to certain segments, because of the high, strict standards it upholds; the preachers know that, so rather than risk unpopularity, they give the people what they want to hear--"tickle their ears" --2 Timothy 4:3

What do you base your statement on, "since most criminals are Christians"?

By definition, if someone is a Christian, they are a follower of Christ. They try to live their life they way Jesus lived His life. They don't just say they are Christian. Anyone can say they are Christian but that doesn't make it true.

If someone is a hardened criminal, they can't be a Christian.

No Christians are REAL criminals. All criminals are Atheists.

A true Christian is judged by what they do in life and laws of man are very akin to laws of God, hence anyone convicted of criminal activity have sinned and active sinners are not active christians.

Atheists, true atheists, don't care about nothing. They have no God, no one to answer to so they don't care what they do.

So all true criminals are Atheists, to do otherwise more than likely condems you to hell, so when you do a crime you are NOT serving God's will.
