Pay the fine. You tried to run away from it in Maryland 22 years ago, you got caught! Just pay the fine.

Strange, but I guess different states have different laws.

I am confused, though, you didn't have to renew your license ANYWHERE for 22 years????? I would think that if there is something going on in another state from that long ago, it would show up when you've gone to renew your license in the past. I have a very hard time believing you didn't have to renew it for 22 years unless you've been driving on an expired license for that long.

Whatever the issue is, though, you have a responsibility to resolve it. Here in MI, it isn't uncommon, either, for a warrant to be issued if you fail to pay a ticket.

And I don't get why a judge would tell you not to come back. This is a judge from Maryland or where you currently live?

You need to call the court back where the ticket is out of and get it taken care of. They don't care if you have to take a BUS back...if you have to WALK back....they want it taken care of...and for your own sake, I would do it.

Maybe when you call, you can make arrangements to pay it through mail or something.

You are stuck, and there is nothing you can do to get your license back, except by paying your outstanding tickets. Many states now have a reciprocal agreement with other state to collect outstanding ticket fines, I live in the French Quarter of New Orleans, and I see people tossing their parking tickets away, because they figure that since they are from out of town, they can get away free. NOT SO, just wait till they need to renew their drivers license, or get a brake tag, they will learn differently.

Pay the fine and all the costs associated with it. You don't really have a choice unless you want to drive around with out a license and risk getting caught and fined some more and losing your license for even longer..

Sorry your past came up to take a big bite out of your behind.

YEP, pay the ticket, pay the reinstatement fee and then get your license back. In the meantime get someone to take you to work.
